Bottle @ Kraddel’s TdG 2013 tasting, Antwerpen. Black body, small white head. Aroma is banana, sweet cookies and hints of chocolate. A bit sweet but OK. Taste is sweet lactic cocoa and chocolate tones, hints of green banana and caramel. Nice. Smooth and creamy palate with a medium to soft carbonation level. As for replicating a banana chocolate profile: the chocolate works, the banana is virtually missing. But still, this is pretty damn tasty. Art (3220) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 17, 2013
Black pour. Smells like real bananas and some malts. Tastes a bit different. Malty with sweet bananas. Quite interesting and enjoyable.

This poured out as a nice looking black beer with a brown colored head on top. The retention and lacing was decent. The smell of the beer gives off a big banana aroma, there is also a big amount of chocolate on the nose too and some sweetness of the malt as well. The taste of the beer is sweet, it's loaded with chocolate and banana just like the nose. It's got a touch of roasted nuts in the finish but upfront it's very sweet. The mouthfeel is creamy and smooth, moderate carbonation on this one. Overall I think that a serving of this beer should be on the smaller side and should be served as a night cap due to it's dessert like quality. I wouldn't drink an entire bottle of this, the 5oz. I had today was more than enough to get the idea of what this beer had to offer.

Bottle from Appalachian Vintner. Pours black with a quarter inch of khaki foam. Slight banana note on the nose. Has a bit of slickness on the tongue. Not getting a lot of lactose or banana on the tongue though I did get some bits of chocolate. Eh!

Dark brown pour, brown head. Lots of roast, chocolate, bitter cocoa nibs, but not much banana. Some vanilla and hints of cream filled coffee. Wish the banana had shown up. kraddel (9338) - Antwerp, BELGIUM - APR 30, 2013

Bottle courtesy of Kraddel @ Post Toer de Geuze tasting.
