3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
A: Malty. creamy. Some sweet roasted notes.
A: Looks ok. Color is a thin brown. Head retention is alright, looks creamy.
T: Like every Thomas Creek beer: very malty. Subtle hints of roastiness. A nice sweetness. Decently balanced but the malt really takes over. I guess for a lager it’s pretty balanced. Drinks more like a bock than a dopplebock.
P: Lighter on the palate. Smooth and creamy but malt and carbonation cuts through a little bit too much.
Overall, this tasted like a thomas creek beer: super malty. There are hints of roastiness but it doesn’t bring anything special. A good beer, but nothing great.

On tap at The J Clyde, Birmingham, AL, 2.5.16. Very dark brown. Roasty and a little alcoholic aroma, raisins and some plum. Sweet, roasty, dried sugary fruit taste and very mild bitterness. Medium-to-full body, smooth, fairly fizzy, caramel finish. Clarkdvm (542) - Florida, USA - JUN 2, 2016
Bottle in Fl. Pleasant aroma- but of toasted fruit. Toasted cocoa flavor. Bit of lingering flavor can’t place, likely just malts. Pretty good oldrtybastrd (5228) - Fort Walton Beach, Florida, USA - MAY 8, 2016

UPDATED: APR 8, 2016 Draft. No lace. Aroma of faint prune juice. Flavors of milk chocolate and plum. Lot of sweetness. Little CO2. Nice, but not special. ordybill (1815) - Douglasville, Georgia, USA - MAR 14, 2016
Poured from a growler into multiple pint glasses. The appearance is a clear, dark brown color with a small white head. The aroma is mostly toasted malt with some caramel malt thrown in. The taste is a match for the aroma. A very nice doppelbock. ibrubeer (426) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - SEP 2, 2015
Bottle @ GSP Hilton. Aroma is a little sweet, chocolate. Color is very dark brown, maybe a little too dark for style? Light malty sweetness, touch of chocolate in flavor. Medium bodied. Would expect a little fuller body for a dopple. Overall, a good beer but a little light for a dopple. HighlanderOne (1395) - York, SC via NJ, South Carolina, USA - JUL 24, 2015
Poured from bottle. Surprising aroma of cocoa, molasses, licorice and lager gas. Looks like a porter. Tasting cocoa, caramel, burnt malt, licorice, honey, molasses, grass. Heavy feel toward the end. Otherwise, good stuff.
