Dark reddish brown with a 1" tan head. Sweet nose of caramel, cherries, raisins, overripe bananas. Crisp carbonation and medium body. Flavors are earth, vanilla. Some smoke and coffee bitterness. Overall a very good bock
On tap at The J Clyde, Birmingham, AL, 2.5.16. Very dark brown. Roasty and a little alcoholic aroma, raisins and some plum. Sweet, roasty, dried sugary fruit taste and very mild bitterness. Medium-to-full body, smooth, fairly fizzy, caramel finish. Clarkdvm (505) - Florida, USA - JUN 2, 2016
Bottle in Fl. Pleasant aroma- but of toasted fruit. Toasted cocoa flavor. Bit of lingering flavor can’t place, likely just malts. Pretty good oldrtybastrd (5002) - Fort Walton Beach, Florida, USA - MAY 8, 2016

Poured from a growler into multiple pint glasses. The appearance is a clear, dark brown color with a small white head. The aroma is mostly toasted malt with some caramel malt thrown in. The taste is a match for the aroma. A very nice doppelbock. ibrubeer (383) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - SEP 2, 2015
Bottle @ GSP Hilton. Aroma is a little sweet, chocolate. Color is very dark brown, maybe a little too dark for style? Light malty sweetness, touch of chocolate in flavor. Medium bodied. Would expect a little fuller body for a dopple. Overall, a good beer but a little light for a dopple. HighlanderOne (1315) - York, SC via NJ, South Carolina, USA - JUL 24, 2015
Poured from bottle. Surprising aroma of cocoa, molasses, licorice and lager gas. Looks like a porter. Tasting cocoa, caramel, burnt malt, licorice, honey, molasses, grass. Heavy feel toward the end. Otherwise, good stuff. DrSilverworm (9671) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAR 5, 2015
12oz bottle, purchased 2/23/15 from Habersham in Savannah. Bottle labeled 7%. Pours with a super-fucking huge brown head. Fills up my pint glass. Awesome. Bad bottle? Yeah, infected. Not super super infected, but you can taste the brett creeping in and it ruins the beer. That spicy citrusy distinct brett smell is evident in the nose, and the beer tastes moderately sour, which is pretty awful with the doppelbock style (at least here). Moderate bitter, light sweet. Hard to do more than take a sip of this. Medium-plus body. Slick texture. Strong carbonation and biting texture, with an excessively dry finish. Once I get past the sour bite, there’s a decent bit of nuttiness and chocolate, seeing some of the coffee. Seems like this would be a pretty decent doppelbock if it was a decent bottle. Impossible to drink as it is, though. It’s been a while since I dumped a bottle so quickly. No date on the bottle, of course... Cunningham (7860) - Halden, NORWAY - NOV 16, 2014
Appearance: Black color with a fine tan head that gives a lovely lacing on the glass.
Aroma: Very fruity and chocolate.
Palate: Medium + body. Balanced sweetness and an ok bitterness. Average to soft carbonation.
Taste: Balanced chocolate, coffee and a bit to heavy fruity.
Overall impression: A bit to much fruity, otherwise ok.
