COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This traditional red ale gets its unique color from an interesting blend of pale, caramel and roasted malts which promote a sweetness that’s then balanced with crisp, authentic English-style hops. A very unique and drinkable red that’s also favored by amber-lovers. And not only on St.Paddy’s day, but the other 364 days of the year as well.

From Dec 2007 I got this bottle in a trade with Wasatch. Thanks John! This beer pours from 12oz bottle a clear deep amber with a good 2 finger head of foam and lots of sticky lacing. The smell is of roasted and caramel malt and is nice on the nose.I can also smell just a touch of hops. The taste is very nice. Roasted malt and good caramel sweetness offset by a nice mild hop bite in the background make for a very tasty, smooth, and easy drinking Red Ale. Oh, there's a touch of chocolate(?) in the flavour that I wasn't anticipating. Very nice indeed. It has a medium mouthfeel and the carbonation is also medium. This certainly isn't your run of the mill example of the style! Very good stuff!

Poured into a mug, the appearance was a ruddy burnt amber color with a finger’s worth of off white foamy head. Sly messy lace. The aroma had some grassy hops, nice caramel malt base, some bready/biscuity sweetness. Sly earthiness. The flavor melds the earthiness to the grassy hops. Malt base is there to balance sweetly. Rugged malt aftertaste. Semi-dry malty finish. On the palate, good session, nice feel, not too sticky on my tongue. Good carbonation. Overall, nice Irish red ale, willing to have again.

Drank at Cooper’s Seafood House in Scranton, PA. Pours a beautiful red color with nice lacing head. A bit of a hoppy aroma for a red ale, but great on flavor.

Pours transparent chestnut brown body with reddish hue. Thin white head subsides fairly quickly. Appearance resembles flat root beer. Malty, nutty, caramel aromas. Medium body with sweet malts and an underlying fruitiness come through in the taste. Crisp finish with a touch of pepper.

375ml bottle. Deep mahogany in colour with a thin off-white head, light lacing. Aroma of caramel malts, brown sugar, christmas cake with a bit of cherries as well. Flavour is lightly sweet, caramel malts, a bit burnt, lightly bitter. Sweet mouthfeel, medium/light body, moderate carbonation. Finishes fairly quick, a little thin. Basic.

hazy red ale, oily top. Cheesy marshmallow sweet nose, blech. Flavor equally sweet, nearing sugar water, light caramel and cardboard. Hints of chocolate, but empty and oily.
