Draft. Pours amber with an off white head. Some sweet and toasty bready malts, lighter hop bitterness, and a relatively balanced finish, with more toasted-isn notes lingering through. Fine. GT (10002) - San Diego, California, USA - JUN 10, 2016
Tap at Thorn St. Clear reddish amber color with good foam. Funky nose, stinky fruit, odd as if verging on vegetal DMS or something. Clean malty flavor, honey bread, straightforward amber. Decent balance. Don’t get any agave syrup really, but that probably is all fermented out.

December 11th, 2013 - Thorn St.’s Agave Ale was an attractive option as I looked up upon Coin-Op’s menu. I’d practically been drinking agave syrup over the last few weeks, decorating my yogurt with it to make a palatable dessert. And as soon as the beer was poured I began to see some similarities, especially in color, though not in clarity. The aroma is lightly hopped, with some of those sweet caramel notes, and, alas, no real agave, though I suppose the scent might be sweeter than one would expect otherwise. The body is medium in weight, and quickly rushes the tongue with toasted grains and cinnamon, with a slightly sweeter aftertaste. The palate comes across as a bit flat, given all the zesty sweet-spice, but the hops is nonetheless pronounced and active. Again, no agave here, but more than that, this brew falls a little flat, both in the mouthfeel and the overall experience. Keg at the brewpub, 15/11/14.
Clear reddish amber with a well appointed beige covering.
Nose is caramel, light spice, floral notes, toffee.
Taste comprises sweet malt, Caramac bar, spice, candied fruit peel.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close.
Ok, touch one trick and overly sweet, lacks overall balance. Marheb (5981) - San Diego, California, USA - FEB 10, 2015
