4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Totally awesome old ale and not far off fillers va in terms of elegance. Beautiful colour and the aroma's all plums and raisins. Uncredible.
Cask at Cloisters. Murky copper brown. Nose is bitter caramel, fruits, toffee. Tastes almost overly sweet toffee, caramel, plums, prunes, wood, light citrus peel, some nuts and fruits, a bit boozy. First didnt like but quite a lot going on. Still too sweet, maybe doesnt fit that well in cask. Stuu666 (13124) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - MAR 10, 2015
Cask at the bow bar. Pours hazy amber, lots of caramel and toffee, bit too sickly sweet.

500ml bottle (thanks FatPhil). Clear dark amber color. Small size, white head, stays. Raisins, prunes, malty, sweet, fruity notes in aroma. Lovely aroma. Plum stones. caramel, raisins with stones in taste. Feels bit thin, but still delicious. Nice one! FatPhil (15975) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - JAN 9, 2015
500ml bottle (Bacchanalia, Cambridge) BB2014/02 Drunk 2015/02malrubius (2864) - Springfield, Vermont, USA - NOV 2, 2014
Beautifully nutty aroma, walnut, some blackcurrant leaf. Nice orange, touch of a haze, small tight head. Beautiful malty body, it has a wonderful mellowness to it, an aged sophistication. Hops are dry and aged, a little bit like a dusty attic. But the sweetness from the plums is lovely too. Palate is remarkably light, there’s no 7.3% here, or if there is, it’s so well integrated into the rest of the tastes that it’s not noticeable at all. Finish is dry, such nice earthy hops. This gives me everything short of "wow", so has to be 3.9. If one aspect could have broken through the wow boundary, it could have been meteoric.
From old tasting notes - Cloudy amber with head. Minty toothpaste herbal aroma. Minty orange herbal with soft carbo. Very good.

Collaboration with Dark Star, with firm, snow white head and orange blonde colour; spicy, yeasty aroma with hints of melon, apple, wood and orange peel; complex malty taste, restrained fruitiness, citrus peel, caramel malts, smooth, somewhat vinous, floral hops in the end. Nice. john44 (3078) - SW London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 2, 2014
Cask Half Pint at White Horse Old Ale Festival 2013, Parsons Green, London in Nov 2013 - Apparently brewed in 2009; this is a 4 year old cask. Hazy Orangey Amber in colour. Fruity; orange marmalade, citrus fruits, raisins, hint of cherry. Malty; bready malts, caramel, barley sugar, notes of honey. Some spice. Slightly vinous. Hoppy; subtle light hop bitterness. Sweet fruity malty throughout. Drying finish. Complex beer. Interesting. Decent. Tomy63 (201) - Clermont-Ferrand, FRANCE - DEC 21, 2013
