On tap at Craft Beer. Clear dark amber beer, little bubbly off white head. Light and very dry palate. Low, almost non existent, carbonation. Sweet dry caramel starts before getting a smack in the chops from astringent bitter bitter orange and bubblegum. Extremely dry finish with a long bitter bitter linger. Struggled through quarter of a pint of this and then drain poured. I like big beers and Thornbridge have done some fantastic big beers but this one ticks no boxes at all for me. Original rating 2.0.

Borefts Beer Festival 3. A retry of a beer I really didn’t like, never going to be a fan of this but a little time has passed and the dryness and the bitterness have faded a bit. Caramel toffee malt, bitter english hops, mild orange citrus. Ok now - at least drinkable.
Cask at the Craft Beer Co., London. Pours clear ruby with a bubbly, white head. Ripe fruit and booze in the aroma. Medium to big sweet flavor, some toffee and caramel, lots and lots of alcohol, some ripe fruit. Warm finish, heavy booze notes, some ripe and sugary fruits. Some cherry liquor in there. A rather boozy character on the whole. Not awful, but a little rough. Koelschtrinker (21492) - K?ln (Cologne), GERMANY - DEC 18, 2011
Süßer, stimmig milde rAntrunk. Leichte Vanillenoten, trocken milder Mittelteil, dennoch halbwegs vollmundig. Getreidiger Abgang. /11/11/10//11
