During 2007, an alliance based on friendship and love of great beer between Thornbridge’s Head Brewer Stefano Cossi and Brooklyn Brewery’s Garrett Oliver led to the brewing of this refined strong ale which has been matured for over 18 months before being bottled. The collection includes the unoaked Alliance Strong Ale and two finished exclusively in fortified wine casks: Spanish oak Pedro Ximenez Sherry (PX) and American oak Madeira. We hope you enjoy this unique tasting experience

Petrucci914 (921) - Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 31, 2010
Pours a reddish-brown color with a thin off-white head. Aroma is heavily oak and sherry. Taste is lightly sweet, with plenty of sherry overtones. Surprisingly balanced and very interesting.

stobbe74 (3790) - DENMARK - JUL 4, 2010
Bottle. Pours a hazy and dark amber beer with an offwhite head. The aroma is malt, fruit, tobacco and basement. The flavor is malt and fruit with peach. The palate is sweet with some alcoholwarmth. Overall a good and sweet beer.

sfhodense (4788) - Odense NØ, DENMARK - JUL 4, 2010
Pours amber with an off-white head. Aroma is caramel, raisin , plum, light alcohol, light dust, light basement. Flavour is caramel, alcohol, raisin, plum and peach.

JorisPPattyn (10163) - BELGIUM - JUL 3, 2010
Marks for Appearance are an average, as beer was sampled in weak artificial light after dark. Alcohol, faintly spicy nose with caramel malts showing, and oranges. Sweet, worts-like, but with a punch of alcohol behing, pineapple ester and other fruity notes. Pretty sharp MF, alcoholpunch and -warming. Unbelievably alcoholic (both technically as in character) for a British ale. Like a smooth punch in the gut. Yet well-worth looking for, if you can still find it.

Dedollewaitor (16658) - Odense, DENMARK - JUN 21, 2010
Bottle @ Johnny’s off license, Rome. Pours cloudy amber with a creamy large foam. Nose is tobacco, yeast, orak and fruit. Some vaguely oxidized cellar notes. Flavor is oak, caramel, fruit and madeira. Smooth and vaguely sticky. Nice sipper.

caesar (7502) - Bunnik/Utrecht, NETHERLANDS - APR 30, 2010
Tap @ pre-ZBF 2010. Compared the three together. Bit more hoppy, less fruity. Slightly less sweet.
