Aroma of hops, bitter berries, caramel and sweet malt. Similar taste, with nuts. Good drinkability. Balanced, with medium bitterness.

Cask at The Old Hall Inn, Whitehough, Derbyshire, £2.95/pint. Pours dark amber/ruby with a creamy, off-white head. Took a while to settle but a good looking beer in the end. Aroma quite weak with some light cereal and earthiness. Nutty bitterness to flavour well balanced with grass and malty caramel sweetness. Short, malty finish, refreshingly smooth on palate.

Half pint on tap at the Navy Volunteer in Bristol. Read-brown with bubbly head. Light maltiness, smooth, slightly bitter. A bit plain though. Seems to have a hint of crystal malt, with dry-bitter finish. Light malty aroma.
