Pours a deep brown in colour with a tan head. The smokiness of the peated malts is matched by a smooth taste of toffee, caramel and dark fruits.

Bottle from Cotteridge wines. A catch up rate. Aroma is nice earthy roast, damp campfire, slight smokey ash, Some earthy coco on the nose as well.. Lively pour, opaque black with some dark red highlights and a big mid tan head that fades to a thin layer. Flavour is composed of smooth nutty roast, campfire, praline, and a bittle roast bitterness in the finish. Smoke character is nicely integrated with the base beer. A little soapy note on the flavour. Palate is medium full, smoth with highish carbonation.

Pitch black, medium sized tan head. Chocolate aroma, but where is the smoke? Taste is just wonderful. Smoked pork, bacon. Watery texture, not creamy, but very oily. Soft carbonation. Roasty finish. Just great.

500 ml bottle. Clear, dark brown body with a nice, creamy and lacing beige head. Rather mild aroma with smoked malt and hint of roast. Flavor is sweet, dark, moderate roasted malt, some smoke, bread, coffee and caramel with traces of liquorice. Nice balanced bitterness. Fine body and nice aftertaste that also has some chocolate I didn’t detect at first. A pleasant porter.
