50 cl bottle with the "Smoked Winter Porter" label. Deep black, thin mocca coloured head. Aromas of chocolate, toffee, coffee and raisins. Rich mouthfeel, medium, but very pleasant, carbonation. Smoked flavour indeed, tobacco, dark chocolate, raisns and plums. Really nice manufactured porter, my first experience with the Thornbrifdge Brewery. Bottle from the LCBO. Dark reddish-brown with a nice creamy tan head. Aroma of cocoa, roasted nuts, bit of damp earth, mild smokiness. Flavour of a solid porter - dark toffee, espresso, bit of cocoa and hazelnut - with a subtle but pleasant smoky backnote. A touch wore smoke wouldn’t be unwelcome, but it’s still very good. blankboy (7662) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 16, 2016
[Bottle (500ml)] Pours a very dark brown with a lasting average size frothy tan head. Minimal lacing. Aroma (7+) of toasted malt, lactic notes, nuts, light smoke, hints of coffee & chocolate and light hops. Flavour of toasted malt, lactic notes, light leafy hops, some coffee and nuts -- not much smoke if any in the flavour but it tastes good. Average to moderate bitter finish. Average bodied. Pretty good. Raistlin (405) - London, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 15, 2016

App.: Deep brown-black with a prolific deep tan head.
Aroma: Grape jelly and other fruitiness, light phenolic/peaty smoke, limited roasted malt character.
Palate: Medium+ body, fairly smooth with a few prickly bubbles.
Flav.: A bit more roasted malt and a bit less fruitiness, smoke remains restrained; dry with moderate bitterness and a mixture of restrained dark-roasted malt and smokiness.
Ruby-black in the glass with a tight mocha coloured cap. A nice dry porter, with roast & slight taste of ashes. Carbonation perhaps a bit more prickly than one would expect. Over all impression is a subtle & muted beer. Maybe a little muted or weak for some moods, but it is a nice sipper after a day at the education factory. chris__hartley (443) - Ontario, CANADA - JAN 26, 2016
It pours opaque dark brown with ruby highlights; the head is tan and mousse-like. The aroma has notes of: dark-chocolate, wood-smoke, and shortbread. The taste is lightly bitter that finishes dry and medium bitter; there are notes of: wood-smoke, charcoal, chocolate, and coffee. The palate is medium-light bodied, has light carbonation, and a long finish. Overall, rather pleasant. Spab (3765) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 23, 2016
