Leighton (21742) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 21, 2014
Gravity cask at Craft 100 September 2014 - London. Pours dark, black-brown, with a creamy tan head. The nose has some burnt marshmallow, earth, background cocoa. Medium sweet flavor with dry, burnt wood, baking cocoa, old raisins, bitter scorched earth. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Moderately dry to finish with further burnt earth, burnt grains, light alcohol, chocolate. Not bad. Decent depth. But nowhere near as good as base Bracia.

Cask at craft 100 Craft Beer Co. Aroma is earthy coffee bean, vanilla, wood, sweet choc. Black dark caramel coloured pour with a short lived tan head. Oily texture. Full silky bodied, with moderate lowish carb. Flavour is sweet praline, caramel and soft slightly earthy roast. Also woody, and vanilla with lingering alcohol warmth. Very nice.

[email protected] bird real ale festival 2014. Black. Soft smooth. Some molasses, dry finish though. Jerky (?? old notes, I’m backlogging)

ManVsBeer (10752) - Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire, ENGLAND - SEP 18, 2014
Cask @ Grove Inn, Huddersfield Dark with a small frothy head and very strong tasting, but you do get some of the bourbon barrel aged flavour.

Stuu666 (14044) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - JUN 11, 2014
Cask at the Hanging Bat. Aroma of toffee, vanilla, chocolate, sweet rich chocolate, toffee.

fonefan (49997) - VestJylland, DENMARK - MAY 25, 2014

Cask (gravity) @ 5th Borefts Beer Festival 2013, Brouwerij de Molen, Bodegraven, Netherlands.

Clear dark brown color with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, chocolate, coffee, wood, alcohol - bourbon, earthy - honey notes, peat notes. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, peat, wood, chocolate, malt bitter. Body is medium to full, texture is oily and sticky, carbonation is soft to flat. [20130927]

Christian (13752) - Odense, DENMARK - MAY 21, 2014
At Borefts Beer Festival 2013. Dark brown with a small off-white head. Aroma of chocolate and dried fruit, with boubon notes of coconut and oak. Sweet chocolate dominated, malty flavour with weaker hard roasted notes. Warm and vineous alcohol in the finish. Great balance

Palme (4812) - Bergen, NORWAY - FEB 5, 2014
From cask @ Borefts 2013. Been looking forward to this for a long time! One of my favorite beers on bourbon and cask. Has to be good. Looks casked with a really deep and dark brown near black body, and the head is what a casked head looks like, bubbly and quickly gone. It’s surprisingly mellow on the nose. Some smoky nice hints with a little bit of both chocolate and tobacco. The flavor is a bit more present than the aroma. Thick and oily in the mouth with a near flat prickling little carbo level. Loaded with dark rich chocolate and a little bit of smoke. Also, the bourbon shines through much better than I thought based on the aroma. Evolves and grows in your mouth. Lasting woody chocolate boozy tail on this. Have to say, I had hoped for a little (much) bit more, but it’s still a fine one! Nowhere as good as the original though. 27.09.2013

BenH (3436) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - FEB 2, 2014
Cask at Bat. Darkest brown with tan head. Aroma has lots of bourbon vanilla oak with chocolate and a slightly meaty savoury edge, cream, dark fruits, prune. Taste has lots of vanilla and chocolate up front with a woodiness, creamy flavour, prune and plum. Flat as they come, slightly sweet and slightly bitter. Wasn’t sure at first but actually it’s very nice and complex

Cask (Gallows Bird, Espoo, Real Ale Festival 2014)
Huge coconut oil aroma, some plastic aspects, some perfuminess. Even more coconut in the taste, this is like drinking sun lotion. The oily coconut never goes away, but the beer is drinkable. Did get some wafts of hot alcohol later. More annoyingly, I get smells of piss even later. Hard to believe this was the same cask that the rest of the Finnish crowd had, not sure why they’re being wowed by pissy hand lotion.
