Cask at University Arms, Sheffield, RBESG 09. Massive thanks to Alex Buchanan from Thornbridge for supplying this beer in the pub. Flowery aroma, more flowery hop than the regular version. Then really piney resiny after with great hot hops on the end. So resiny it’s untrure reakt (950) - Greater London, ENGLAND - JUN 19, 2009
Deep hazy amber with a lasting fluffy off white head. Lots of fruit, tangerine, peach & pineapple among others and a sweet slightly caramelly malt base. Taste much the same lovely bitter fruity hops, nelson sauvin? and sweet malts underneath. Coats your mouth, has great length and leaves you wanting more. Epic indeed! thewolf (12535) - Kolding, DENMARK - JUL 28, 2009

Cask @ University Arms, Sheffield.
Pours a great, hazy golden, bordering on orange. Aroma has lots of grapefruit, pine, strawberries, caramel and nuttiness. Low, elegant, creamy mouthfeel. Flavour has strawberries, resiny hops, sweet caramel, fruity, flowery. Sweet and bitter in near-perfect balance. Fabulous.
A Mes rate: cask at the University Arms.DJMonarch (9179) - Northwich, Cheshire, ENGLAND - NOV 6, 2009
Amazing clean gold colour with a thin but stable white head and superb condition. The hops my God the hops!!! It’s got the lot. Citric as hell, grassy and resinous, wonderfully aromatic, sooooooo tropical. Pure sex. The malt base has just enough earth, just enough sweetness and coats the mouth perfectly for the pine and floral finish to stick to. Faint spicy sting from the alcohol. Excellent length to the bitterness. Fanbloodytastic beer.
Cask Handpump at the University Arms, Sheffield 17/07/2009
Very fruity hop aroma. Golden coloured a little hazy in appearance and fruity with a little bitterness and dryness in a crisp lasting finish.
Just like drinking pure hop juice this one! Along with Marble’s Dobber this one was my favourite beer whilst out and about around the pubs of Sheffield and Manchester during the RBESG weekend.

In NZ at The Malthouse, from special mini keg sent over. Was surprised how balanced this was, not the big hop head I was expecting. Shame there wasn’t more... maeib (8749) - Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, ENGLAND - JUL 22, 2009
Cask Conditioned Gravity Dispense Merton BF. A hazy light amber coloured beer with a whitish head and lacing. Surprisingly subdued aroma with hops as expected but no more than a 5% golden really. The hops in the mouth though kick you right in the throat with deliciously big bitter flavours. Lime jelly, grapefruit, tangerine, depth, warmth, wow factor and overall, drinkability. I want more of this little beauty. otakuden (1783) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - FEB 4, 2011
Appearance: small haze of suspended dregs. Fluffy white head fades with lace and lingers the whole time as a blotchy head. Golden and straw hues.

Nose: grass, citrus rinds sticky with their zesty oils. Floral in the back with flower petals. Green grass damp with dew continues onward into an explosion of fresh orange zest.
Palate: wow and yum. Lemony, dew green grass, orange rind and zest. Long dry thirst-inducing finish; quite pleasant actually. Very well balanced and attenuated, playful and lively. Fleshy juicy nectarines join the oranges. Underneath lingers a clean bitterness which leans more toward green grass than citrus. Pith in the back swallow. The floral esters/flower petals weave in and out of the flavors, tying them together while also holding its own.
Final Thoughts: neither Eric nor I knew Thornbridge brewed beer, but if all their beers are this good, maybe even gooder, I can’t wait to try some more. Yummy yummy in my tummy.
Cask - Fat Cat, Norwich. Cloudy - chunks and all - dark yellow with a large, bubbly dome-like white head that leaves a fine, lasting layer of froth. Fresh, fresh, hops ’n’ hops, oh yes. Fruity hoppy aromas of pineapple, orange and plenty of grapefruit. Each sip is like a mouthful of grapefruit sprinkled with demerara with a fluffy, sweet yet crisp bitter finish. Plenty of flavour, but surprisingly balanced with a lasting, lasting, lasting grapefruity finish. Coating mouthfeel leaving plenty of flavour on your palate. fonefan (48761) - VestJylland, DENMARK - OCT 5, 2009
Cask (handpump) @ University Arms, Sheffield, England.
Light light unclear medium yellow orange color with a average, creamy to frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, moderate to light heavy hoppy, grapefruit, orange, fruity, mango. Flavor is heavy sweet and hops + shell bitter with a long duration. Body is full, texture is creamy, carbonation is soft.
