Black, creamy tan head with good lacing
Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate malts, touch of coffee, light and mellow
Taste of smooth mellow roasted malts, smooth mellow dark malts, soft coffee and chocolate, alcohol very well hidden, touch of milk sugars, very tasty
Palate - soft carb, medium body, creamy texture. Finish is very smooth, fairlly rapid finish with soft roasted malts and chocolate
Overall - Very good tasting porter, silky smooth. It was better than the bottle version I tried.
Tasted from the bottle @The Sheffield Tap, on 04/11/2012.
Pours velvety black with a tiny-tiny head.
First sip just overwhelms with intense mix of aromas (especially considering that the beer is too cold) - huge roasty notes, not only from barley, but also from bread, chestnuts, a hint of honey, amazingly complex and delicious.
Mouthfeel is definitely full-bodied and has just a perfect carbonation level.
Taste is even better than aroma, hints of sours berries begin to linger the tongue, then changing by a citrus wave, which, in turn, is followed by a mix of brown sugar&chocolate sweetness.
Wave of roasted and woody notes concludes this canonade of flavours.
Just a perfect porter one could imagine.

Cask at the Sheffield Tap. Dark, almost black pour with a broken tan head. Peaty, spicy somewhat fruity aroma. Smooth, fruity flavour with hints of chocolate. Quite an unusual porter it has to be said. Given the alcohol content, it's not a major part of the flavour.

330ml bottle at Schouskjelleren. Deep mahogany coloured body. Firm fawn-coloured head with lots of small bubbles. Earthy malts to the nose added by cocoa powder. Half-tart berries and fruits in flavour on a backbone of slightly roasted, chocolate malts. Clean, dark bitter finish. Quite well bodied. Good porter (Oslo, 19.09.2012). sic1314 (4775) - Leiden, NETHERLANDS - OCT 1, 2012
On tap at Borefts 2011. Poured muddy medium brown with a medium frothy tan head. Aroma of liquorice and chocolate malt. Full creamy body, flavour of nuts, dark fruit, dark coffee, dark chocolate and berry fruit. Dry, satisfying bitter aftertaste. jamesie1857 (1975) - Sheffield, South Yorkshire, ENGLAND - AUG 22, 2012
330ml bottle - a dark brown pour, tan head, lacing throughout. Heady chocolate nose with a lot of fruit in there, smoky too. A little thin on the mouth, but a rich bitter taste makes up for it. Very good. planky84 (3371) - Lee, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 15, 2012
Bottle from Mr Lawrence Wine Merchants, Brockley. Pours deep dark brown with a beige head. Smoke, dark fruit, chocolate and coffee aroma. Coffee, roasted malt and dark fruit flavour. Coffee cream tingle on the palate. Smooth. Long dry, bitter-sweet finish. Tasty stuff. Frenger (367) - Derby, Alabama, ENGLAND - AUG 1, 2012
Bottle from a corner shop. Maybe a bit thin and for some reason slightly chewy, but nice. Toffee, coffee, tasty and that.
