Bracia is the Celtic name for a beverage brewed in Iron Age Europe with reference found on a Roman inscription at Haddon Hall,Derbyshire. Little is known about this except it was high in alcohol, brewed with cereals and, most probably, honey. Thornbridge’s Bracia has been infused with a generous amount of dark and bitter Chestnut Honey. This was sourced by Head Brewer Stefano Cossi from Beekeeper Onelia Pin in the Alpine foothills of North East Italy. Aromas are of chestnut, honey, cappuccino, white chocolate, dark fruits, vibrant fresh peel. The mouthfeel is velvety and rich, with notes of coffee, chocolate, liquorice and hazelnuts with warming alcohol, cocoa and a little peat in the finish. Malts: Maris Otter, Brown, Munich, Dark Crystal, Black, Chocolate, Peated and Roasted Barley. Hops: Target, Pioneer, Hallertau Northern Brewer and Sorachi Ace. Bracia can be cellared for up to one year, maybe longer. Its flavours will evolve so why not enjoy the experience of opening a bottle every once in a while.

2014 bottle into a snifter showing amber brown with sparse white foam. The nose shows moderately intense notes of sweet roasted chestnuts, honey, and light malts. The palate is full bodied and well carbonated. Pronounced notes of chestnut and malt with a strong hoppy bitterness. Alcoholic spiciness throughout.

Praktycznie czarne nieprzezroczyste piwo z obfitą beżową pianą. Aromat dużo palonych słodow, miodu, toffi, ciemne owoce. Bogate w smaku na początku charakter stoutowy nuty palone i kawowe, potem wchodzi miód, kasztany, orzechy, suszone owoce. Mocne, trochę nietypowe ale świetne piwo

Dark mahogany brown pour with tan head. Really interesting brew. Malt forward with dark fruit and berries, light bread toffee and spice, and a hint of hop bitterness. Smooth as advertised. Some alcohol shows, but not to a fault.

maekchu (4184) - Hirakata, JAPAN - JAN 15, 2018
Bottle, 2015 vintage. Thanks to wombata. Very rich dark fruit nose, a bit nutty, with dark sugar and some alcohol fumes. Dark brown color, flat. Mild chocolate, small bit of berries, sweet cake, licorice, and marshmallows. Medium-heavy body, and very smooth. Lots of complexity and balanced. Great.

oberschlesier (239) - Kattowitz, UPPER SILESIA, - JAN 13, 2018
UPDATED: JAN 14, 2018 Aroma: dry fruits, chocolate covered cherries, some paper/anise/liquorice notes. Taste: nothing much more than paper/anise/liquorice. Beer has really good head, average carbonation.

MeadTeam9 (67) - - JAN 13, 2018
UPDATED: JAN 13, 2018 Couleur noir foncé. Nez splendide sur le café et des notes de miel. Bouche intense, tourbée, avec une finale d'une longueur fabuleuse.
