330ml bottle, highly recommended by the barman at Schouskjelleren. Bubbly, lightly brown head. Lacing rings to the glassware. Devil-black body. Very good looking. Velvet aroma of not-too-sweet chocolate, carefully roasted. Elegant balanced taste of chocolate malts offset by smooth fruity hops. Prolonged bittersweet coffee notes to the finale. Alcohol notes far behind. Full bodied. Not extreme in any way. Top notch (a very fine last drink during my Oslo-Bergen-Oslo trip in September. This one was enjoyed on a Wednesday afternoon in Oslo, 19.09.2012).

Bottle with thanks to Ben! Pours deep black with a medium creamy tan head that dissipates slowly and laces well. Aroma is loaded with licorice and blackstrap molasses along with deep roasted malts and some cocoa. Flavor is light plus sweet, medium plus bitter, rich and roasty, deeply molasses forward. Full body, creamy mouthfeel. This is pretty much as good as it gets from an old school adjunct free imperial stout. Kudos.

Taste is roast malt, chocolate & coffee, molasses, dried fruits, raisins, with grassy & earthy bitterness. Full bodied, soft carbonation, dry roast bitter finish. Very drinkable.

Pours very dark brown with a good head. More carbonation than I was expecting. Aromas of Raisins and figs and molasses. Smells like PX sherry! A touch of malt develops on the nose. Body is luscious and thick! Initial Taste is Raisins and sherry again but then some smokey notes develop. The finish is liquorice, molasses and a touch of Pumpkin. This is good but a lot more like PX sherry than I would like from my beer. As such I find it a bit sickly and I drink a lot of imperial stouts! Bottled in Dec 2011, opened in Feb 2016

(Bottle) Black colour with creamy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of chocolate, cacao, sweet liquorice, black rye bread and a touch of honey. Malty, roasted taste with liquorice, dark chocolate, cacao, caramel, black rye bread, a touch of smoke, hints of spice and a generous roasty bitterness in the finish.
