Pitch black color. Thin dark brown head. The peated malt really shines and works well with the French oak with just a touch of sherry notes, all of this on top of roasted malts, dark chocolate, and licorice. Pretty damn complex nose that melds well. Oh and I forgot to mention that sweet honey pops up as well. WOW. The mouth shows low carbonation, slightly sour, smooth, lighter body than excepted, tons of peat, sherry, dark chocolate and roasted malts. Bottle. Aroma of honey, raisins, dark fruit. Taste is honey balanced with boozy roastiness. Rich, chocolate. Nutty, oaky. Bit of coconut. Damn good.

At the Belgrade-Serbia tasting on 31/10/2015. Bottle purchased at Johnny Off L. store in Rome-Italy. Pours coffee bean color, brownish medium cap. Nose: English malt feel, bready-yeasty, wood BA, chocolate, cocoa. Nice. Mouth: chestnuts honey, burnt malts, tobacco, piney finish. Crazy (and tasty) experiment.

500ml bottle, nearly 2 years old, consumed whilst contemplating my hatred of Southern Hemisphere rugby teams. Black, small tan head, light lacing. Aroma is tangy manuka honey, slightly metallic. Body is medium, smooth, slightly foamy. Taste is malty, touch of coffee, some vanilla and chocolate. Lovely taste - very good beer. Though I have to say a) it doesn’t have the body of an imperial stout and b) given all the treatment this has been given (champagne yeast, 2 honey additions, 3 barrel treatments, 3 hops, bottle conditioning), this should be a lot more complex and getting a score nearer the elusive 5.0. Palate: Thick smooth texture, thick body, low carbonation, lingering dry, bitter, roast malt, cold coffee, honey finish with alcohol warmth.

Bottle. Opaque dark brown beer with a large brown head. Aroma is malty with notes of chocolate, vinuous cherries, caramel and coffee. Flavor is malty with notes of chocolate, sherry, caramel and roasted coffee. Well balanced Stout.
