Dark brown color, small brown head. Aromas of chocolate, vanilla, oats, roasted malt, bourbon and fudge. Taste of licorice, tobacco, coffee, chocolate, bourbon, alcohol and slight herbs. Taste of licorice cough drops during the finish, which ruins it a bit, otherwise great. maekchu (4228) - Hirakata, JAPAN - MAY 2, 2016
Bottle. Chocolate nose, with decided alcohol presence, spice, and light red wine. Dark translucent brown. Chocolate strong in initial flavor, tingling alcohol, lots of dark fruit, and creamy in finish. Heavy body. Very nice stuff, with good dark chocolate flavors. Not as creamy as most oatmeal stouts, KyotoLefty (11122) - Kyoto, JAPAN - APR 30, 2016
Black with a pretty head. Meaty nose, chocolate, soy sauce, umami, Worchestershire sauce even. Flavor is some berries, soy, dark chocolate syrup, smooth, medium body. A very rich and tasty impy. Nice. Didn’t get Bourbon, so I wonder if they are 3rd use barrels… blomster (289) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - JAN 18, 2016
