Cask, keg & bottle; Regular.

A citrus dominated India Pale Ale, its immediate impression is soft and smooth yet builds to a crescendo of massive hoppiness accentuated by honey. An enduring, bitter finish.

UPDATED: AUG 19, 2008 Cask handpump at the Swan in the Rushes, Loughborough. Crystal clear golden colour with a slim but lasting white head. Great flowery hop and citrus aroma. Excellent hoppy taste but in a well rounded way. Lovely juicy mouthfeel. An excellent IPA.

Cask at the Lincolnshire Poacher, Nottingham. This is a very complex beer. The flavours are very well-balanced with lemon, grain, grass, malt, herbs and bread all in the mix. With all its bold flavours, you can’t go back to anything else in the same it evening; they just pale in comparison. Well above any other IPA and definitely worth seeking out.

UPDATED: MAR 9, 2011 A lovely IPA. Really sessionable. Good hop measure; fruits, citrus and eldeflower. The balance is good however a little sharp and dry in the finish. Drinkability is good and mouth feel is moderate Consumed at Rake on tap and also bottle conditined at home, 19th March 2010. 3.7 Update 10th March 2011. My Brewery Tap. Bottle condition. Damn this is GOOOD White head, golden blonde stunner, aroma is citrus, baked bread, floral hos, zingy lemon, taste is stunning, grapefruit, lemons, honey, tropics, grass, gorgeous fanatical hop-bite, rolls off your tongue like sweet honey, fresh at the brewery they must hate to see this leave! A perfect beer to represent an empire.

Gravity cask at Haymarket. Pours a very attractive gold with a minimal head, minimal CO2. The nose is full of citrusy hops and some pleasant floral aromatics that all tie together. On taste, crisp bitterness that is very welcome and far from overwhelming. More of the full citrusy hops come through as well. This is one of the best IPAs I’ve ever had. Simply wonderful.

UPDATED: DEC 22, 2013 bottle [email protected]: clear yellow with a white head, full-on bitter citrus flavor, flight floral, substantial malt body, very briefly a slight bitterness at first with some minor caramel & caramel, followed by a mouth filling citrus bitterness, definitely English, nice, bottle good until 13.6.2011 ///// Consumed a whole pint of this one @ ’t Antwaerps Bierhuyske. Served from keg into the appropriate Thronbridge glass. This one was a blast to drink, gulping down like water I get the perfect amount of hops. Highly juicy with lychees, floral and white grapes notes. Sweet like honey & caramel feel with the necessary hoppiness but none of that punishing American brutality, this one is like an old friend you could drink forever. Far better shape than prior & no meanness due to comparisons with their Kipling. This one aptly gets to rise from 3.9 to 4.5 this time around.

Veramente un’ottima ipa ed era già scaduta da un pò, immagino come poteva essere fragrante e fresca se fosse stata al 100%!

My last beer of 2014! Bottle 500ml. Pours out a creamy off-white head with gentle levels carbonation. A golden to orange colour with a slight haze (although about half way through the pint it became clear) with bubbles lazily floating to the surface. Aroma is big orange, grapefruit and pine aromas with a slight biscuit maltyness. Taste is more of the citrus hops with some lemon and apricot notes. There’s a lovely bittersweet finish. Almost medium-bodied with a slightly creamy texture and gentle levels of carbonation on the palate. I had this beer straight after a Thornbridge Chiron and they make a great combo palate-wise. Again, this is not my usual tipple of choice, but if like me you’re curious about hops and are slowly pushing yourself in, this is a beer for you.

Idealne IPA, spore zmętnienie, kolor brudnej pomarańczy, mocna amerykańska chmielowość, boskie aromaty skórki cytrynowej.
