Clear medium to dark brown colour with a average, frothy - fizzy, good to excellent lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted - caramel, sweet dark malt, spicy, mango, acidic - milky notes. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet, light light acidic and light to moderate bitter with a long duration, spicy, sweet cinnamon and ginger ! Body is medium, texture is creamy, carbonation is flat.
Cask at Get Real New York. Deep amber pour. The nose is of lavender, hibiscus and stewed fruit as well. A little bit of astringency on the back of the soft pale malt. A bit of woodiness toward the finish as well. Decent flavour - but the palate isnít quite right. jredmond (8204) - New York, New York, USA - APR 2, 2011

A dark maple amber ale with a thin moka head. In aroma, faint caramel malt and herbal British hops. In mouth, a light nutty and woody malt with herbaceous green hops, astringence, light maple notes, not bad. Cask at Get Real NY, March 19th 2011. Appearance: Modestly hazed, amberesque body with a scant, bubbly, off-white head.
Smell: Scents of dark caramel and toffee, though not rather effusive, a goodly-sized pinch of dried herbs, and juniper giving an impression of gin.
Taste: A touch of dry caramel and dry toffee, imparting just a bit of flavor, but no real sweetness joins an herbaceous taste of unsweetened iced tea and handful of grains. Slight pine. Light bitterness. Somewhat savory, faintly tart inclusion of juniper berries which carries through the finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Light carbonation.
Overall: Itís fine and suitable for a spiced-up English ale.

On cask warm. It smells pretty great with some flowery lavender, the taste is a lot more tame and perhaps lacks the flavor I would have liked. pintocb (654) - Hoon, Georgia, USA - MAR 9, 2011
This didnít impress. Too harsh, too young. Could have been a good session ale. jeremytoni (3058) - Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA - FEB 20, 2011
