COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask and bottles; semi-regular.
Originally released a for the Chesterfield CAMRA festival.
Renamed as Wild Raven in 2013 due to another beer going by the name "Raven" elsewhere
The recipe for the brew came from James Kemp, who joined the team a few months ago. Previously crowned the New Zealand Home Brewing Champion in 2008 and winner of a Liberty Award, Kemp used Maris Otter, Black Patent and Chocolate malt along with Nelson Sauvin, Centennial and Sorachi hops.
The beer, called Raven, has bitterness and hop character and plenty of malt flavours to give it complexity.
James moved on to Buxton brewery and is now a freelance brewer

Aromas of toast, floral hops. Dark brown with a fairly lasting beige head. Dry, meaty like cooked bacon, bitter herbaceous and vegetative flavors. Medium bodied, long bitter finish.

Euston Tap. Keg. Mini bimble with Ian Harrison. Clear deep red - amber beer, small pale tan head. Palate is light and crisp. Very mild dark malts, no roast or bitterness. Light sweet piney hops. Motueka like floral sweetness. Light red berry fruits. Smooth airy finish. Very nice!

Bardzo ładny aromat cytrusw. Piana trochę wymuszona, drobno pęcherzykowa, kemowa, ładnie oblepia szkło. Dodatkowo białe owoce, ananas przede wszystkim, trochę winogron. Kolorku dodaje nam wyczuwalna czekoladka. Wysycenie w stronę wysokiego. Goryczka jak dla mnie troszkę za niska.

Bottle from Thornbridge online shop. First ever Black IPA I ever tried and still the best Ive had (I have only tried 4 other examples though) Appearance is almost pitch black with a slight dark brown tinge. Massive biege head. Aroma is of pine, pineapple, and a touch of chocolate. Taste is initially chocolate, Seville orange, pineapple and grapefruit with a medium bitter finish with more chocolate and fruit. Love this beer. Outstanding!

Yeast y hop aroma. Somewhat yeasty flavour with slightly roast malt and grassy hop flavour. Good carbonation and reasonable texture.

from Brewers Droop, Bristol
500ml Bottle [BBE:21.11.15]

Smells like a soft, fruity apple and peach pie, almost yoghurty, something creamy as well as fruity which I cant place. The fruit is especially soft though, unlike the brighter fruit flavours commonly achieved in such volume. Colour is very deep ruby and the head is thick, coagulant and pink-brown. Apricot. Id say Im getting a lot of apricot.
The mouthfeel has a thickness but not really, thick, actually perfectly suited to this style and flavour as it accentuates the soft aesthetic. The soft fruity flavours become more resinlike on tasting with a hint of berries and hidden dark chocolate secrets. This is an extremely unique, intriguing and tasty brew. Clearly, I made a mistake before. Drank it at the wrong time. Id love to know the hop schedule for this one.

Tap @ YNWA, Kolding. Pours deep brown to black with a medium, creamy, off-white head. Aroma has citrus, light roasted, mild chocolate, light apple. Medium carbonation, fine dry and quite creamy mouthfeel. Flavour has coffee, light roasted, apple, chocolate. Mild, lingering bitterness.
