Restrained aroma in a jet black pour. Smooth body has a spicy sweetness that makes it an ideal seasonal drink.

Schwierig nach gut 6 Bieren ein ernsthaftes rating abzugeben. Nur soviel: ich fand es sehr gut und werde es wieder trinken

Draft 0,33l. Pours black with a medium tan head. Aroma is soy sauce and cloves. Very smooth in the mouth, starts off fairly soy-saucy, finishes with a little clove and cinnamon taste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Cask Handpump at the Winding Wheel, Chesterfield Beer Festival 02/02/2008 White head. Lots of fruit and spiced aromas. Black strong in alcohol fruity and spicy clove flavoured with a little dryness in a crisp very bitter and warming roast finish.

Pours black with tan head. Nice sweet aroma. Flavor has some bitterness. Quite nice. Got to visit the brewery and they seem to be a nice bunch.

Cask at the University Arms. As black as any beer you’re ever likely to find. A very full, complex flavour. Very interesting and delicious.

Cask at the University Arms. Pours black with a fairly tight medium tan head. Aroma is soy sauce and cloves. Very smooth in the mouth, starts off fairly soy-saucy, finishes with a little clove/cinnamon astringency. Hides the alcohol well. I was told this is a Christmas version of their St Petersburg, but I can’t find it on their website.
