Black, ruby edges, dense thin tan head, some lacing
Aroma of smooth rich dark malts, soft deep roasted malts, dark fruits, raisin, dark mellow chocolate
Taste of smooth dark malts, dark chcocolate, soft roast, getting the dry wood, best i’ve tasted st p, not too woody, booze well hidden
Palate - Medium body, very smooth texture. Finish of soft burnt roast, some powdery dark cocoa, slight bitter burnt age, maybe the wood is giving a slight raw hint
Overall - Glad to have tried this, last time I had st p on cask at York Tap it was sticky and cloying and a bit of a mess and I’m not really a fan of the bottles. Just misses a 4 for me.

Very dark mahogony brown with a good sized bubbly beige head that retains well right through until finishing.
Nose is roast malt, burnt sugar, woody tones, light chocolate, toffee.
Taste follows the nose, touch of booze, treacle toffee, vanilla, chocolate, touch of spice.
Full end of medium bodied, fine carbonation, smooth on the palate, goes down a treat.

Cask @ CBC Islington. The pour’s deep brown with a tiny tan head. The aroma’s full of oak wood, light shocks of vanilla. Mild smokiness, some choclate and earthy ash, roasted malts. The taste is more oak and vanilla, Smooth chocolate syrup. A bit of coffee cake and cinnamon. Smooth-drinking, silky mouthfeel. Effortlessly easy to drink. Lovely balance. Cask at CBC Islington, London. Thanks to Jack! Pours drk brown with a frothy, beige head. Some burnt marshmallows in the nose, very light roasted malts, touches of vanilla and oak. Medium sweet flavor, some beaten roast, burnt wood, faint earthy bitterness, iodine. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Somewhat oily to finish, light vinous wood, faint earthy bitterness, faint cocoa. Decent, though not outstanding.
