Imperial Russian Stout
Rich and dark with smoke, subtle peatiness and the power of the dark malts. Molasses and liquorice and chocolate goodness all wrapped up in a smooth, warming liquid. Finishes with a distinct humming bitterness carried well by the hop and malt combo.

Pours with decent creamy foam. Color is pitch black. Aroma is medium and has Islay whiskey like peatiness, licorice, mmmi and burnt malt and flour. Palate is quite well balanced. Slightly yeasty and floury. Taste has licorice, strong burnt notes like burnt caramel, some very dark coffee, some dried plum, whiskey and burnt raisin. The body is quite fruity and sweet. This not a very coherent beer though but the taste combination feels slightly sloppy. An okay stout, but for this price I know better of this style.

Pours black with a thick tan head. Not a whole lot of aroma just some roasted malts maybe. Taste burnt malts hint of black licorice. Seems thick. Overall a pretty good stout.

Nera con bella schiuma beige ampia e compatta. Al naso caff e cioccolato, al palato bella morbida, tostata con un ottima base amara e finale pure. Leggera, beverina, resta la nota legnosa. Carbonazione bassa.

tap at the Derby Winter Beer festival. A bold way to start given the abv but it had just won best stout in the festival. Caramel and molasses aroma. Pours dark mahogany with broken lace. Taste has licorice notes and chocolate in the back ground in a satisfying malty stout. One can see why it is a winner

Pours black, with medium high beige head, nice lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, vanilla, dried fruits, licqoure, raisins, brown sugar, some espresso in the backround, bit of chocolate. Taste of a good stout, some burnt notes, nice bitterness and sweetness, dried fruits again, ash, dark chocolate and hint of coffe. Medium body, medium carbonation, bitter finish.

Black pour under a thin light beige head. Roast, licorice, and anise on the earthy nose. Dark earthy flavor of the same tones as the nose: licorice, dark malt, anise, earthy malt tones. A bit boring and over roasty and licorice-y.

Bottle 50cl. poured into a teku glass. Opaque deep red brown, small yet thick beige creamy head, fairly lasting, heavy lacing; aroma roasted malts, cocoa, caramel, mocha; smooth taste, medium sweet and bitter, malty, roasty, chocolate, fruity and spicy notes; mild malty sweetbitter aftertaste, bit earthy and coffee groundings; medium body, oily to creamy texture, average carbonation; a rich and well-balanced stout, very nice and easy to drink.
