Imperial Russian Stout
Rich and dark with smoke, subtle peatiness and the power of the dark malts. Molasses and liquorice and chocolate goodness all wrapped up in a smooth, warming liquid. Finishes with a distinct humming bitterness carried well by the hop and malt combo.

500ml bottle for 3.49 from Peckhams (Glasgow,):
Roasted malts and a sweet, burnt sugar aroma along with some coffee and chocolate. It also seems to have some darker fruits lingering in the background and overall it is a pleasant aroma that could have used being a little stronger.
Mahogany brown colour with a few red tinges in there and a huge, three fingers tall head that is a thick looking, foamy, light brown with great retention.
A strong roasted malt presence initially but what follows is a lot sweeter than I was expecting, there is a touch of coffee along with some chocolate and sugar. The dark fruits from the nose are in the taste as well and there is some licorice complimented by some caramel; a very sweet and hoppy tasting imperial stout.
Lighter than usual for the style, falling somewhere around medium bodied with mild to medium carbonation levels. There is also more sweetness to it than your usual imperial stout.

Lighter in many ways than what I was expecting, the aroma was quite subdued but not exactly weak and the body was a lot lighter too but it was an excellent beer and one that Id probably have again. The 7.4% alcohol content was very well hidden and goes by pretty much unnoticed.

Butelka 0,5l. Aromat bardzo przyjemny, czekoladowy, nieco utleniony. W smaku słodko, głwnie czekolada, przyjemna kontra goryczkowa. Delikatny alkohol.

Bottle from Beer oclock Bucharest. Clear black colour, pours creamy brown head, roasted malt, bit of coffee in aroma. Coffee, dark chocolate, malt in the taste, low bitterness, alcoholic finish. Bit empty for Russian Imperial stout, but still good beer.

Smell of licorice, tar, cognac. Cola colour, high brown head. Aroma of ash, tar, roasted malt, some smoke. Medium bitter. Lively carbon, soft palate. A regular stout, not so much imperial in it.

Powerful imperial stout that smells sweet but falls on the darker notes of taste. The bitterness is strong and protruding with some sweet sense to it

Pours with decent creamy foam. Color is pitch black. Aroma is medium and has Islay whiskey like peatiness, licorice, mmmi and burnt malt and flour. Palate is quite well balanced. Slightly yeasty and floury. Taste has licorice, strong burnt notes like burnt caramel, some very dark coffee, some dried plum, whiskey and burnt raisin. The body is quite fruity and sweet. This not a very coherent beer though but the taste combination feels slightly sloppy. An okay stout, but for this price I know better of this style.

Pours black with a thick tan head. Not a whole lot of aroma just some roasted malts maybe. Taste burnt malts hint of black licorice. Seems thick. Overall a pretty good stout.

Nera con bella schiuma beige ampia e compatta. Al naso caff e cioccolato, al palato bella morbida, tostata con un ottima base amara e finale pure. Leggera, beverina, resta la nota legnosa. Carbonazione bassa.

Aroma of caramel with a hint of burnt. Pours a dark brown with mini head. Complex taste of pine, licorice, caramel with a bitter lingering finish.

tap at the Derby Winter Beer festival. A bold way to start given the abv but it had just won best stout in the festival. Caramel and molasses aroma. Pours dark mahogany with broken lace. Taste has licorice notes and chocolate in the back ground in a satisfying malty stout. One can see why it is a winner
