Dover Beer Fest, 2006. Stunningly beautiful. Juicy, sweet, soft, flavoursome. A thoroughly enjoyable beer - dark and delicious with plenty of interesting twists and turns. A rare moment of pure pleasure. SanfordBrewer (1642) - Sanford, Florida, USA - MAR 6, 2012
opaque black with a creamy tan head. slightly clingy, slightly silky full body with medium carbonation.Gehbe (451) - Vilnius, LITHUANIA - SEP 9, 2016
aroma: roasted barley, caramel, anise, chocolate, and woodsy hops.
taste: smoke, roast malt, carob, herbal hop bitterness, woodsy hop flavor.
while there’s plenty of dark roast malt character, the burnt and astringent flavors common in most examples are very subtle here, and the hops are a bit more forward. this makes it much more sessional for me. very good.
Pours clear deep ruby-brown with a huge frothy tan head. Original rich aroma of chocolate, pine, resin, northern rainforest, spice, dried fruit and prunes, chestnuts, coffee, toffee and forest again. And again. And it never ends :) Fairly light body for an imperial stout which makes it sooo dangerous. Can’t... stop... drinking it.... Baltic Stout is what it should be called, and I’d be even prouder to live in the Baltics then :) TroughMonkey (6) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - SEP 3, 2006 does not count
A fantastic stout with a dangerously drinkable quality. Beautiful black mahogany in colour, a mouth watering fruity nose which follows thru onto the palate with rich roast maltiness, dark chocolate bitterness, liquorice, smoke, tar and a surprisingly light mouth feel for 7.7%. The intensely mouth watering flavours are crying out for accompanying food, which is advisable given it’s unique quaffable character/strength combination zacgillbanks (5450) - Tyne & Wear, ENGLAND - FEB 11, 2012
Bottle from the Thornbridge Brewery. An inky black beer with an oily mouthfeel. It has a strong coffee and chocolate flavour with vanilla, liquorice and a warming finish. Bottle Conditioned.

Bottle from Slowbeer. Interesting, but rough for an imperial stout. Aromas of tobacco, caramel, liquorice. Taste is sweet, with bitter notes, and long length. Syrupy, full bodied. Dark brown, with a frothy head. Suchar (80) - Opole, POLAND - JAN 23, 2016
Really great aroma and apperance. Taste great, I sniff coffe on first, next some carmel, some bananas and vanilla, taste like a barrel. This beer had a real nice colour, nearly black. In this class could have more alcohol. But in a final it’s real great RIS, worth a try!
