COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask and bottles; semi-regular.
Originally released a for the Chesterfield CAMRA festival.
Renamed as Wild Raven in 2013 due to another beer going by the name "Raven" elsewhere
The recipe for the brew came from James Kemp, who joined the team a few months ago. Previously crowned the New Zealand Home Brewing Champion in 2008 and winner of a Liberty Award, Kemp used Maris Otter, Black Patent and Chocolate malt along with Nelson Sauvin, Centennial and Sorachi hops.
The beer, called Raven, has bitterness and hop character and plenty of malt flavours to give it complexity.
James moved on to Buxton brewery and is now a freelance brewer

erickok (6036) - Leuven, BELGIUM - SEP 23, 2013
Black bodied with lasting besiege head. Aromatic herbal and grassy hops, roasted coffee beans, toast and cleanly fermented. Enough sweetness to form body and back up the abv, yet with heavy bitterness. Really nice, Sharp edges and smooth toffee sweetness in harmony. Very well made and interesting brew. (50cl bottle from Dranken Geers)

Deep dark brown-red (practically black) with a medium beige head. Lovely floral hop aroma, with some earthy, chocolate malt and some smoke. Sweet on the tongue with a medium bitter finish. Oily texture with light carbonation, perhaps a little thin.Really nice beer.

Beige foamy full lasting head. Black colour. Aroma is malty, fruity (pineapple with light peach and apple) with pine notes. Flavor is malty too, fruity (grapefruit) with light dark chocolate tones, ending in a long moderately hoppy finish, slightly chocolaty. Medium bodied.

Garrold (5927) - Sheffield, South Yorkshire, ENGLAND - SEP 8, 2013
Bottle from Beeches of Walkley, Sheffield. Mahogany colour with a thick, frothy beige head. Masses of juicy fruit and piney, mineral hop aromas. Big chewy mouthfeel. Long, dry, bitter finish. Perhaps if I hadn’t had this a hundred times before I’d have rated it higher? Honesty is the best policy though...

Tap at Bar Animale. Roast and grassy hop aroma. Deep black, brown lace. Milk chocolate, coffee roast, good smoke flavor with a quite decent aromatic and grassy hop counterpoint. Medium sparkly body which breaks the heavy elements apart. Smoke retronasal. Really nice.

TET (3323) - Kaarina, FINLAND - AUG 31, 2013
UPDATED: OCT 5, 2015 A colablack beer with a beige and big head. The nose is balanced, roastiness, fresh pine forest, some citrusfruits and also other fruits. Taste is strongly roasted and strongly bitter, pine needles, coffee. The end is long and dry, slightly herbal. Medium bodied, medium carbonation, fresh. Nice and balanced black IPA, enough of bitterness and roastiness, but could be more complex.

Bardzo bardzo porzadne i smaczne piwo. Ciemne prawie czarne z lekkimi przeswitami czerwieni. Piana spora jak na angielskie piwo do tego korzuchowa. W zapachu to az trawiaste chmiele tancza w nozdrzach, w smaku podobnie, tosty przypieczone zalane aromatyczna herbatka ziolowa. Pyszny i tresciwy ciemny IPA. Bardzo polecam
