Originally released a for the Chesterfield CAMRA festival.
Renamed as Wild Raven in 2013 due to another beer going by the name "Raven" elsewhere
The recipe for the brew came from James Kemp, who joined the team a few months ago. Previously crowned the New Zealand Home Brewing Champion in 2008 and winner of a Liberty Award, Kemp used Maris Otter, Black Patent and Chocolate malt along with Nelson Sauvin, Centennial and Sorachi hops.
The beer, called Raven, has bitterness and hop character and plenty of malt flavours to give it complexity.
James moved on to Buxton brewery and is now a freelance brewer

From bottle its mostly clear dark brown with a short head. Aroma is basement must, charcoal, stale chocolate, greens, mushrooms, cheese, BO. Medium bodied, somewhat watery and thin without much malt support, and carbonation is timid. Kind of bland and empty overall. Might be old but theres no way to tell.

Kirkas, punertavan tummanruskea olut runsaalla vaaleanbeigell ja reilusti pitsi jttvll vaahdolla. Kaunis olut. Keskitytelinen suutuntuma.

UPDATED: NOV 18, 2016 Pours dark brown with light head. Aroma is little bit sour, fruity, fresh caramel, light bitter burned wood. Taste is grass, light silage, small caramel candy, light burnt furniture, bread. After taste scratches the throat. Feels a little bit dead, otherwise good grassy IPA. Update 18.11.2016. From tap. Fresh taste, not dead at all. Nice bitter beer, goes well with beef.
