Gravity dispense at the 32nd WHOAF, 21/11/14.
Extremely dark mahogany brown with a decent tan covering.
Nose is nutty, spice, light cocoa, dark fruit rinds, woody notes, toffee, dates.
Taste comprises biscuit malt, figgy tones, raisens, nutmeg, winter cheer, subtle bourbon wood licks.
Medium + body, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a tingling of booze.
Nice stuff. Solid winter warmer full of dark fruits and subtle bourbonics.

(draught) pours a clear dark amber-ruby colour with a frothy off-white head. aroma of milk chocolate and toasted grain, with hints of toffee, wheat, chocolate icing and light coffee. flavour is mostly the same, lots of milk chocolate and roasted malts, with a herbal-hoppy medium roasted-bitter finish. light to medium-bodied with average carbonation.

Aroma of earthy malt, fruit and caramel. Medium body with flavors of peaty malt, ripe fruit and slight hops. The finish is earthy with a dark malty aftertaste. Above average overall.

Had at a cask ale festival. Slightly smoky, malty, nice bitterness. Maybe a little light on the palate for the style, but very satisfying.

Craft Clerkenwell. Clear dark red - amber beer, small off white head. Slightly viscous palate. Burned toffee malt with a trace of coffee. Tangy dried fruits. Finishes semi dry with mild red berry fruits. A curious brew this, more interesting than drinkable.

jamesie1857 (1984) - Sheffield, South Yorkshire, ENGLAND - DEC 27, 2012
On cask at Coach and Horse Dronfield - A deep near black ruby body, very boozy on the nose, hits of malt and cake fruits there. As expected there were the smoky tastes, nuts, toast, coffee, but sweetened up a bit as you get used to the drink. Very nice, but regretting the third and fourth pint of this. Ouch.
