Tap sample. Poured clear copper color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate earthy toasted malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium sweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. My expectations where met.
Poured clear, light scotchy-copper with a small, off-white head.
Caramel malt scent.
Taste is a bit dull...minimally spiced and thin.
Caramel malt...a hint of nuts.
Not bad, just underwhelming. TheAlum (7164) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - OCT 26, 2013
Draft on tap at the brewpub (Indianapolis Broad Ripple, IN). Pours a nice darker orange amber hue, gentle haze grows a bit, nice fall sunset glow is darker, a bit dulled and dies slowly. A cakey beige head atop stays as a decent layer, sticks around well, laces ok. A firm layer remains. Aromas are gentle bready malts, a touch biscuity, earthy hops move in quickly. Dry, gentle spice, grass and florals move in. Some gentle dryness, faint spiciness. Initial is lighter end of medium bodied, a touch of girth but nothing that intimidating. Some gentle toastiness, bread and biscuits meets some firmer earthy hop elements. A bit dry, some grass, gentle spice. Middle is gentle body, some firmer dryness, gentle spice, faint toastiness. Backend is a bit more dry, a firmer hopping is dry, a decent bitterness. Some gentle malt elements peek through at times. Some decent dryness, bitter qualities as we taper out. I must say, this version forgoes the friendlies and relies more on a dryness, decent bitterness throughout. Lighter body, some decent drinkability here makes me a believer. b3shine (8795) - Indiana, USA - SEP 17, 2013
Draft to taster at Scotty’s Brewhouse. Looks decent; light for an Oktoberfest though. A completely transparent light golden orange with thin white lacing. Smells of dough, malt, and lager yeast. Tastes like it smells with an average mouthfeel. Alright, but forgettable.
