Draft - Dark roasty notes and some toast. Jet black with a decent white head. Dark roast and nice chocolate notes. Solid. Tmoney99 (14479) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUL 26, 2012
Draft sample. Poured a dark brown color with an average frothy light brown head that was mostly lasting and excellent lacing. Moderate toasted sweet malt aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium toasted chocolate sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Solid drinkable beer.

Draft. Milk chocolate malt aroma. Dark brown with moderate head. Sweet creamy chocolate malt flavor. Light ashy finish. Nice body - tasty. phaleslu (10247) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - FEB 24, 2013
Draft at Scotty’s Brewhouse, served in a pint glass. Pours a dark brown color that’s surprisingly clear, and lighter at the bottom where the glass narrows. Small off-white head. Notes of chocolate, toast, dark fruits, earth, mellow roast, and leaves. Light-bodied, with minimal carbonation and an earthy, watery mouthfeel. Just a little light and undercarbonated. Otherwise, a straightforward porter.

2oz taster on tap, at HopCat Broad Ripple. Mostly clear red brown color. Thin tan head. Leaves good, thicker ridges of lace. Great coffee up front. A hint of the caramel, some dark chocolate, toasty malts. Moderate bitter, light sweet, more dry taste. Medium body. Smooth, lightly soft kind of crisp lighter carbonation and dry texture towards the end. Really nice coffee porter. The coffee and caramel work great together. b3shine (8872) - Indiana, USA - JUL 4, 2013
Draft to taster. Looks good; cola with foamy beige head. Smells solid; malty and nutty. Tastes like it smells, but less balanced and pleasant, with a slightly off-putting mouthfeel. Meh. drfabulous (7941) - Lexington, Kentucky, USA - JUN 26, 2012
Draught at brewpub. Chocolate and roasty flavor as expected. Not a heavy body for a porter. Slightly burnt taste. Nice. TheAlum (7164) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - JUL 8, 2012
Flight draft on tap at the brewpub (Indianapolis, IN). Pours a richer blackish pour, firm haze, and brownish glowing bottom and edges. Not opaque, but the beer is dark with a frothy chocolate milk hued head atop that dies to a thicker ring, laces pretty well. Aromas are touches of dark fruit, plum and raisin, black cherries meet roasty malts, cocoa. Gentle toffee, coffee, and biscuits. Good aromas, dark fruit slanted with more cocoa. Initial is medium bodied, a touch nutty up front with cocoa, biscuits, a touch of sticky molasses. Some brown malts, smooth and inviting with just a subtle dark fruit presence (much more subtle than the nose let on). Cocoa, dark chocolate, and some smoothed over biscuits, toffee. A bit thinner than I expected from a richer nose. Touches of caramel, biscuits, gentle roast, and dryness linger into the backend and finish. Leaves a mellow sweetness, darker malts, a bit underwhelming in that department. A solid Porter even though it really tapers out to a forgettable finish. Not bad. kramer (6682) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 7, 2017
Pours a clear dark brown body with a minimal wispy beige head. The nose is big coffee with some chocolate malt and roasted malt. The flavor is a bit flat, there’s some coffee and chocolate malt, and light bitterness. A bit grainy though. It’s a bit light and thin on the whole. Light bodied with soft fizzy carbonation. Not a great example of the style.
