Now this is a saison! This refreshing Belgian-style ale is the combined effort of Three Floyds and De Molen’s fantastic brewer Menno (the real Dutch Hercules). This spicy and bracing ale was brewed in Munster, but look out for the one we brew in Holland at DeMolen. Cheers and drost!

Bomber bottle and served in an Unibroue tulip: Pours a deep golden honey hue with an initial huge head which left very good lace upon the glassware The aroma as notes of biscuit, pils, honey, aromatic and crystal mats along with grains of paradise and oregano spice vapours, light to moderate grassy and citric hop esters. The taste is similar to the nose, malty yet not sweet with a noticeable spicy midesection and finish embraced by even handed bitterness, ever present citric notes lets you know this is not an olde word Saison. My only real complaint is the noticeable presence of alcohol which reduces the refreshment factor often found in the genre. Lively crisp and biting mouthfeel, yeah it is a Floyds take on Saison. I would drink this again.

Bomber from the brewery brought by ck1, thanks bro! Digging into another FFF creation with a lot of anticipation. Pours a lovely oranger-than-pink-grapefruit with a spongey white head. Excellent lacing just coating the glass. Aroma has spices, fresh fruit and a yeasty presence. Faint citrus. Taste is of many fruits - lemon, orange, grapefruit, apple, melon - plus chewy resin, a spicyness and some malt. Quite bitter and very dry as you get down through the glass, with some alcohol presence. This is not your father or uncle’s saison - much more assertively hoppy and strong. Liked this one a lot. Another win for Floyds!

Bottle picked up in WIcker Park. Pours a hazed pale gold with a big, fluffy offwhite head. Nose is somewhat subdued, herbal hops, faint white pepper, restrained yeast. Resin and pilsner malt. On tasting, some light vanilla and medium bitterness. Clean overall. Malt forward with a hint more of fruit. Faint pepper again. Nice enough beer but not a particularly wonderful saison.

Bottle from brewpub. Deep orange in color with copious white head. Deep spiced tropical fruit, mango, peach, light apple, and moderate pine. Flavor starts mildly sweet with mango and peach and then dries out nicely with pine and tropical fruit bitterness. Well-attenuated with some lingering skunky pine and fruit.

Purchased at In Fine Spirits in Chicago, IL after going to the dentist, enjoyed on a nice, cool mid-fall evening. Appearance is a very cloudy, bright orange/ruby red with a rich white head that laces to the glass. Aroma of spice, lemon peel, Belgian yeast, mango, definitely rich in tropical fruits. Taste goes down slightly bitter with pronounced fruit/lemon notes, finishes dry, pretty good stuff with noticeable complexities.

Bottle shared by JM. Poured hazy copper color with a large frothy off-white head that was lasting with good lacing. Moderate to heavy yeast, hop and spice aroma. Medium to full body with a sticky texture and flat carbonation. Medium complex bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. Solid complex drinkable beer.

Aroma is piney/grapefruit hops and an undercurrent of spicy yeast. The flavor is grapefruit, tropical fruit, an undercurrent of mildly sweet malts, spices and a bitter/tart finish.

Bomber to taster (thanks jmborggren). Looks good; a hazy orange with off-white head. Smells and tastes spicy and zippy with a pleasant, dry mouthfeel. Nice.

Cloudy amber pour with an off-white head. Aroma is melon and pineapple hops. Some spiciness. Taste is dry, melon, spicy. The flavor reminds me a little of a honey dew melon. Best saison I have had- 3 Floyds signatur hops make it so.

Bottle. Pouts a hazy deep gold with a white head that dissipates slowly to the edges and laces. Aroma has a good amount of citrus with some light fruit, grain and light spice. Flavor starts with some bitter citrus that mellows to allow some light fruit and light spice to come out.
