Bottle. Orange, peach, grapefruit, and musty malt aroma. Cloudy golden yellow with large white head. Sweet orange malt and moderately bitter herbal flavor. Not a bad beer - very sweet for a saison. queenholly (3623) - South Whitley, Indiana, USA - OCT 5, 2012
Bottle. Fresh pink grapefruit, honey, and musty aroma. Honey gold with a large ivory head, thick lacing. Syrupy sweet honey malt, subtle citrus peel, dry bitter herbal/spice flavor. Full body.. Hammy78 (973) - Dundas, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 5, 2012
Bottle sent to me by a very gracious local. Pours a hazy gold and copper colour with a active white head that recedes down to an almost film with a lot of lacing (and I mean a LOT). Nose is of many different tropical fruits, mango, grapefruit, passion fruit. Three Floyds really have their hopping down pat. Tastes quite bitter and sweet, a caramel like flavour too. Super smooth, possible Belgian yeast. This is reminisent of an IPA, and definetley for the hop lover. Really awesome. ccex (1313) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - OCT 3, 2012
22 oz. bottle pours a hazy orange with lumpy white head and good lacing. Smells like a Three Floyds brew with floral and citrus hops, although subdued.. Aroma is full of melon, honeysuckle, peach, and pineapple with a modest malt backbone. Body is medium with average carbonation. Mouthfeel is sticky and taste is sweet with a clean dry finish and noticeable alcohol. An interesting take on a saison, and the best of this style I’ve tried - much better than FFF Rabbid Rabbit BeerSquare (117) - - SEP 30, 2012
I loved saisons for a long time, but have fallen out of favor with them the past few years. . . this could change that.
This sucker nails most of the things a good saison should be, and avoids all the pitfalls.
Very subdued nose that is sweet at first, but airs out to a mild floralness very quickly. Slightly deeper gold color and slightly less cloudy than you might expect.
What flava. I get a honey / honeysuckle, with notes of rindey pear, and a surprisingly clean finish-- no belgian sugar notes lingering here, just a wheatgrassy, alcoholy burn at the end.
And an authoritative, but not abusive melony lemony hop profile that stays very even throughout, with nice competing sour / sweet finish.
Didn’t expect to like this as much as I did. As it stands, still might be a little sweeter than my fave beers, but it is an awfully tasty brew.

Nose of honey suckle, tropical fruits. Taste sweet, tropical fruit, grapefruit, alcohol burn. Yeast character muted by bitterness. Going to cellar a couple to tame bitterness and burn and hopefully reveal more of a saison. AndyReynolds (1085) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - SEP 29, 2012
Maybe the best saison I have had, but one for a hop lover for sure (go figure, it is from 3 Floyds). Aroma is complex, not just hoppy and citrusy, but earthy tones with some bananaish type notes. Very different. Palate is thick and full finishing dry. Flavor is sweet and lasting. I am pretty impressed with this one. bdigital (658) - Ft Wayne, Indiana, USA - SEP 28, 2012
Murky bronze color...juicy fruit nose with an emphasis on pineapple and peaches. Nice carbonation...taste mirrors the nose with some additional herbal notes, including mint, to be noted. Fantastic brew. Chudwick (3207) - Taylor Mill, Kentucky, USA - SEP 28, 2012
draft - pours dark orange/light amber with thin off-white head. Nose is yeasty and hoppy (borderline pee). Pretty tasty but not what I would call a saison except for the wheat/yeast presence. Hides the 8.5% well. Gooney (389) - Portland, Oregon, USA - SEP 27, 2012
:22 oz bottle from brewery - pours a nice amber color. Citrus aroma. Very smooth drinking. Fantastic flavor. This is a really good beer.
