UPDATED: NOV 30, 2012 This is the biggest saison I’ve ever had in every way. It pours a completely opaque hazy gold/orange with a great white head made up of mostly small, tight bubbles. It smells very yeast/cereal like, citrus hops - ripe grapefruit and mango, orange juice. Follows the nose to a tee - very bready but also very bitter from a strong hop presence. One of my favorite 3F offerings and beers overall. Just fantastic, please make this year round crossovert (12934) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - SEP 4, 2012
Hazy orangeish gold pour. Head quickly dissipates with no lacing.
Smell is sweet, nice hoppy scents, tropical fruit, citrus, some bubblegum. Really IPA like with a hint of yeastiness.
The flavor is goood. Melon, tropical, citrus, candylike malt, slight white wine, sweet but not overpowering. A slight touch of booze in the finish.
A tasty brew. An example of the proper way to do a collaboration beer.
And btw the label is freaking hilarious and awesome. rxeight (3084) - Illinois, USA - AUG 31, 2012
Glowing cloudy amber orange color. Spices dominate the aroma. Also has a bit of a sweet alcohol on the nose. From the aroma I would have guessed barleywine, certainly not saison. The first suprise on this beer are the massive amount of hops. Lots of citrius and tangerine come through. I had some Alpha King prior to this and you can immediatly notice the relationship. the finish has a bit of spicyness and bitterness. I have to admit that I havent had may of this style, but this seems to be quite a departure from the typical Saison I’ve had. I didnt get nearly as much of the banana and spice flavor but rather strong hops wth a spicy finish. Not sure if this is just better or it is just the result of the 3 floyds combination of lots of hops high ABV. Overall, a quite enjoyable beer. Tap at the brewpub, served in a tulip. Translucent Amber-apricot color pour with a sticky white head. It actually forms an Alpha King crown lace on the glass! Aroma of dried apricot and cut grass. Taste is sweet malt with citrus rind, and a real Earthy quality. Pretty fucking delicious. Full Mouthfeel that coats the tongue leaving you feel like you just sipped heavy cream. A little boozy but so quite good.

22 oz bottle from the brewpub (Munster, IN). Capping off my weekend entirely filled with wedding stuff on the couch. Pours a rich amber orange hue, bigger haziness and darkness in the body. Growing glow on the edges of orange and gold, big cakey offwhite head sits atop, big cakey head sticks around well and laces pretty good. A darkness to the middle with inviting edges and bottom glow. Aromas are touches of straw and bready malts, pale with mellow touches of fruit. Apple, pear, bit of lemon and grass with a growing dry hoppiness. Touches of spice and yeast, dryness, and gentle sweetness, some American citrusy hops jump in at times. Mellow sweetness, a touch of melon. Gumball, and gentle grapefruit kiss. Initial jumps a bit more flavorwise than the nose let on, preaching citrus and fruit, melon and touches of tropical elements, oranges and grapefruit. Florals and bready malts, straw, and grass mix well with a growing fruity complex hop and fruity profile overall. Melon, citrus, not bracingly bitter but quite flavorful up front and into the middle. Some more bready and cereal elements into the backend, dry grass, gentle smooth crisp malts, fruit, and bitterness. Fairly clean, quite drinkable even at it’s ABV. I quite enjoyed this. The nose was more subtle overall but the flavors and palate experience, synergy really work for me. Crisp and cleaner finish without that spice or yeasty dominance is another thing that works for my personal tastes quite well. Looks quite good with a head that just looks like a photograph. Bitterness grows as we get further in. Just a really nice beer.

Delicious combo from two of my favorite brewers. The Belgian yeast and wheatiness is welcome, as is the curious blend of spices that give this full flavored beer its character. Not only citrus and coriander, but floral aspect as well. zebra (2141) - Illinois, USA - AUG 23, 2012

Zes Zes Zes, also referred to as the 666 beer, on tap in a tulip at FFF. It pours a cloudy orange with a finger of white head and great lacing. The aroma is tangerine, grapefruit, and spices. The taste is mandarin orange, candi sugar, grapefruit, white pepper, and coriander. Mouthfeel is medium and sticky. This is a beyond fantastic saison.
