hazy orange, light cream head lasts. Zesty nose is light citrus, heavy pineapple with faint peach sweetness, honey then with warmth comes dum dum sweetness, probably the watermelon. Flavor is quite bitter, paper and orange up front with medicine and burn mid-finish. Wouldn’t have guessed saison. boFNjackson (4201) - Portland, Oregon, USA - NOV 9, 2012
Bottle... Poured golden/orange hue with a white head. This was quite spicy and insanely dry. Some malted sweetness that meshed with citrus and floral/grass and more yeast-like spices. A bright saison for sure. ansalon (4102) - Stockholm, SWEDEN, SWEDEN - JUN 5, 2013
Pours a hazy deep amber. Aroma: fantastic with caramel, peach, spices and hints of smoke. Taste is similar with peach, honey, caramel with light smoky tones. Very very good!!

22 oz. bottle from the brewpub. Pours a rich orange color with a thick white head. Aroma has a strong note of spruce and pine, a fair amount of citrus and a lot of grapefruit. There’s a big bready malt component that is robust, strong cereal notes as well as straw and earthy notes. Flavor is strong on the grapefruit hops, nice pine and grass hop notes rounding things out. The beer is certainly bold when it comes to hop presence, however has a certain apparent heft as well. The abv is somewhat present. The mouthfeel is full, finishes bitter. This is good, big, but good. drewbeerme (3920) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUN 26, 2013

The beer is orange with a small white head. The aroma brings hops and citrus followed by a sturdy malt backbone. Good flavor, though a bit sweet and syrupy. Oranges soaked in alcohol. Hoppy finish with lingering bitter citrus. Not really a saison, in my opinion, but tasty nonetheless. Good stuff. Brigadier (3725) - Chagrin Falls, Ohio, USA - SEP 23, 2012

I was not sure how to approach a saison from Three Floyd’s. My memory of Rabid Rabbit still lingers as a bit of a mess. Obviously this recipe worked out much better. If bottles make it to the central part of the state I may have to grab another one.
Aroma / Appearance - The hazy orange base looks like orange marmalade. An ivory head rests on top timidly. Sweet apples, pears, and yeast stick out though lacking is that trademark over the top hops profile. Instead this one is more subdued though still evident.
Flavor / Palate - Apple skins, cotton candy, and an earthy hay base meld to form an experience that is well planned. The texture hangs in the back of the throat where the hops emerge strongest. I would love to try the De Molen version if it doesn’t cost an arm and a leg.
Bottle. Fresh pink grapefruit, honey, and musty aroma. Honey gold with a large ivory head, thick lacing. Syrupy sweet honey malt, subtle citrus peel, dry bitter herbal/spice flavor. Full body.. Ed5388 (3488) - Forked River, New Jersey, USA - MAR 23, 2013
22oz bomber. Pours a murky orange color with a large white head. Huge tropical dry hopped aroma. Thick pineapple, pale malt, hint of pepper. Taste has a big hop bitterness and is peppery, with some delicious pineapple and grapefruit notes. NobleSquirrel (3438) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - OCT 13, 2012
Bottle picked up in WIcker Park. Pours a hazed pale gold with a big, fluffy offwhite head. Nose is somewhat subdued, herbal hops, faint white pepper, restrained yeast. Resin and pilsner malt. On tasting, some light vanilla and medium bitterness. Clean overall. Malt forward with a hint more of fruit. Faint pepper again. Nice enough beer but not a particularly wonderful saison.
