On tap at the brewpub. Pours has a hazy light pale gold with an off-white head that lasts throughout the beer and laces nicely. Aroma has a good amount of sweet grain with some floral hops and a bit of backing citrus. Flavor is sweet with grain and flora up front with a hint of bitterness in the finish.

Draft on tap at the brewpub (Munster, IN). Another new FFF rate.. They are pumpin’ these bad boys our Pre-DLD. Pours a rich well hazed golden hue, dulled, touches of glow in the body. A rich cakey white head sits atop, firm lacing and rich caking. Aromas are blasts of lemony hops and grass, florals and mellow Belgian yeasty spice mix, touches of apple and banana esters linger in. Firm dominant hopping steers the course here with lots of lemon and secondary grapefruit. Initial is medium bodied, a touch lighter with firm bitter hopping. Florals and grass, citrusy hops work well, middle shows some gentle Belgian influence, touches of yeast and spice, fruity esters. Touches of heat, sweetness, backend gets much more dry and bitter, lingering fruit, touches of tangerine, apple, and grapefruit. Lemons, mellow fruity esters, a faint waft of candy floss. An Imperialized version of Hyena it seems and it plays the part, with better hop character that plays more of the focus. Pretty nice, ABV is fairly well integrated, hop forward but the Belgian element still comes through. Solid.

Tap at FFF. Unfiltered glowing orange-tan. Massive steady foamy head. Big and thick and sugary. This is nice, but maybe not quite up to FFF standards. Sort of like Westmalle Tripel(?) Mango smoked tobacco, Candy sugar, but way more depth than most Tripels. A pinch unrefined and sugary, but still pretty great.

This draft brew from a beer festival poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized white colored bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind a very softly carbonated transparent light orange colored body and an excellent lacing. The mild aroma was citrus and hoppy. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish. The flavor contained notes of citrus fruity hops and malt. A decent one that I would consider drinking again.

Rated on 6-01-2012 at Brew Haven Ticket Release Party at Trion Tavern-New Haven, IN. This draft beer has a small off-white head, hazy golden body, very little carbonation observed, and a fair amount of lacing. The aroma is floral, grass, pine, citrus hops, spicy, and malt. The flavor is moderately hoppy, floral, grass, pine, citrus hops, spicy, and some malt. The mouthfeel is soft carbonation and this beer is light-medium bodied. This beer has a good flavor and for the style is not overly hoppy tasting which is quite a surprise given this is a Three Floyds beer.

Draft at the brew pub. Gazed light orange pour with thick, medium white head. Aroma of pineapple and orange peel. Mild tropical fruit notes. Flavor is fairly bitter, light Belgian candi sweetness surrounding the planned hop assault. It doesn’t really take the form of most double ipa/ trippels I’ve encountered. I prefer the focus on the hop flavors rather than the yeast strain. Lots of nice citrus and pine flavors. Medium bodied, soft carbonation. A lovely beer to enjoy on a dreary April afternoon.

From the tap poured a brown color with a good amount of head. Spicy malty hoppy flavor with a lasting aftertaste.

ROGUE (2215) - Lewes, Delaware, USA - OCT 10, 2012
On tap at Brew Pub. Pours a hazy orangish yellow color with a creamy head that dissapates slowly and leaves lacing. Smells of sweet citrus hops with a mix of belgian spices and banana. Lots of alcohol underneath as well. The taste is indeed bitter and has a pretty good balance of banana and clove and citrusy hop notes. Light bready malt. Incredibly well hidden abv. Medium body, moderate carbonation, smooth texture, and a nice dry finish.
