UPDATED: MAR 26, 2006 Im really excited to drink this beer right now. Ive never been in more of a pale ale mood than I am this evening. Great looking beer. Darker and redder than most pales. Sweet grapefruit, orange, and hop aroma. Piney hop flavor. Not nearly as much grapefruit taste as I had expected. Very refreshing with just the right amount of carbonation. A quite enjoyable rotgut.

bottle. Huge grapefruit aroma right out of the blocks. Medium white head that lingered briefly. Very pretty orange-red and completely clear(despite the bottle fermentation). Huge grapefruit flavor. Not as bitter as I expected, but still a lip-purser for sure. Very unbalanced of course, but too much emphasis on the grapefruit. Could be better on tap? Not a real "98%er" in my book.

Slightly hazy copper hue with a durable head and lacing and some yeast floating around-lovely dry hoppy grapefruit aroma. On the light side in body, its a hoppy sob alright but wheres the malt? Bitter hoppy up front, turned a bit fruity-grapefruit/orange with a note of caramel in the middle with a dry bitter finish. Tasty with a killer aroma but unbalanced.

Bottle: dark amber with red highlights, light tan head, clear body. This is one of the best hop aromas I have smelled. Fresh, juicy hops, grapefruit, floral notes, grass, some caramel malty notes. Taste doesnt hide the fact that its been heavily laden with hops. Initially biting and bitter, yet fresh and crisp, this beer attacks your taste buds. Loads of hops, with some caramel, grain malt in the background somewhere. One of the best in this style for sure. Only negatives - slightly watery mouthfeel, could be more full bodied. Also, I respect hops, but Id like to see just a bit more malt backbone to go with the body. Very good.

Orangey red with an off-white head. Nose is candi sugar, grapefruity, rich malt, tart & tini candies. Flavor is grainy/husky citrus hop, some fruitiness. Well done on the malt, slightly past toasted. Finish is grapefruity pine, earthy. An awsome IPA

[GABF 2004] A clear orange beer with a small orange head. It has a great hoppy aroma with notes of oil. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel and loads of hops. The hops lends it grassy notes and a very hoppy dry finish and lots of bitterness. The body is surprisingly weak.

Amber/orange coloured. Hoppy and fruity aroma. Very refreshing. Grassy, dry and slightly light finish. A great thirst quencher.

Very strong hop aroma, citrus, herbs and tobacco, very good! Pours orange to amber body with a medium airy white head. Very nice hop flavor, very refreshing, but a bot too watery. Wish i had this beer as my everyday beer!

Bottled: Orange golden coloured. Light brown medium head. Well lasting. Flowers, herbs and hops in the nose. Goood. Is very well hopped in the flavour. Citric and flowery. Is a little thin in the body, but ends on a very nice long lasting sweet bitterness. Quite refreshing. Good one.

UPDATED: OCT 17, 2004 An excellent american pale ale. Truly fabulous. Could be drunk in volumes. Tobbacco, copper. Treacly, sticky grey green, dull brown head. Notes of subtle apricot, brandy and an abundance of hops. Amariillos methinks. Voluminously subtle and yet breathtakingly aromatic all at once. All of these flavors translate into the palate. However they are not paled over by some rudely cantankerous tyrant malt, or hop or yeast. Much rather they lie down sweetly with one another and are committing indecent acts on my strongest muscle. These flavors come first. Next an ample hop punch cuts my cheeks in twain. Overwhelmingly bitter. However it retains an element of subtlety in that the malt is aromatic and sweet enough to carve the bitterness into perfection. This is one masterful brew. G-rat
