3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours very black with a good tan head. The aroma contains roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, and some mint, which is kind of unusual. The taste gives quite a different impression. Lots of pine and hops in here which makes it feel like a Three Floyds beer. I still get a good amount of mint, with the malty impressions being undertones but coming through more at the end. Aftertaste is roasty, with mint and coffee, and lasts awhile. Full bodied with a thick, yet slick, mouthful. Slightly bitter at the end as well. Pretty good I must say. But there are others from Three Floyds that I would rather drink.
UPDATED: JAN 12, 2018 It is a really nice porter, the Mexican Sugar really does add to the beer. That being said, I’ve had many better porters than this. Even though it is still really good. Capa (3620) - DC, Washington DC, USA - JAN 7, 2018
Near black with a half inch tan head. Cocoa, light spices, hop forward, citrus. Medium bodied. Finish has a little heat and the spices tinge the side of the tongue a bit. Very interesting and quite enjoyable. Weevo (187) - Indiana, USA - JAN 2, 2018
On tap at Bacon Hill Pub. Black with foamy tan head. Creamy, smooth, chocolate, roast, nice finish. Good enough I ordered another.

UPDATED: DEC 28, 2017 Pours black into a snifter. Mocha head with good retention recedes to skim surface. Cocoa and nutmeg aromas. Soft with chocolate and dry espresso front to back. Thanks TAR for the trade. tmohr (41) - Illinois, USA - DEC 22, 2017
UPDATED: DEC 25, 2017 Glorious near-ebony color, pert head. More hoppy and less boozy than most imperial porters. Well balanced with a mild, pleasant lingering bitterness. Very good. rosskyle (797) - Denver, Colorado, USA - DEC 8, 2017
