Gelungen! 8/10/9/11/11/11

Bottle at the Angry Fist of Santa tasting at Chris_o’s. Thanks Harry. Black, dark ruby edges. Thin tan head. Lovely choc, good hop. Slipped down really well. Smooth and utterly drinkable. mcberko (18390) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - NOV 14, 2012
22 oz. bottle, pours jet black with a small tan head. Aroma of English malts, toasted biscuits, some winter light spices and caramelized brown sugar. Flavour is very darkly roasted, with English chocolate malt, dark caramelized sugar, and some burnt notes - some hops still plowing their way through after almost a year. Very full-bodied, burnt and roasty. Good stuff. Oakes (18167) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JAN 4, 2003
Dark brown; aroma of chocolate malt. Sweet. Soft malty palate. Thick, viscous body. One of the better examples of traditional-style porter. jtclockwork (16831) - , New Jersey, USA - JAN 6, 2014
Bottle. Pours dark brown with brown head. Nose and taste of citrus, roast chocolate, vanilla, brown sugar, coffee and candy cane. Medium body. Slightly dry/roasty finish.

A: The pour is a dark brown color with some definite red highlights. A short lived off-white head is present, too.
S: Quite a lot of roast, and perhaps char, with just a touch of smokiness. There are some nice hints of dark fruits, earthy hops, and bitter dark chocolate. I seem to pick up just a touch of licorice.
T: Mostly roasted malt flavor with a nice char character. A mild sweetness in the form of toffee, and the same earthy hop notes. A mild to moderate bitterness to the beer.
M: Medium in body and medium carbonation, too.
D: Kind of heavy on the roast which limits the amount of other qualities you can pick up, but good. Dedollewaitor (16229) - Odense, DENMARK - DEC 26, 2015
Bottle. Trade with Kermis. Thanks Chris. Pours nearly black with a small settling creamy beige head and lacings. Nose has roast, coffee, zest - orange peel. Dry and roasted bitter flavor with coffee and dark fruit, chocolate plus a faint dusty hoppy note. My guess is that its 2 or 3 years old so the hops pretty much vanished. Smooth and light bodied - suitable. Would be fun to try fresh which I guess would give it some other strings to play. Nice bhensonb (15489) - Woodland, California, USA - DEC 19, 2011
Bomber from Secret Santa (Brad in Ohio). Thanks for this 100 pt beer! Pours dark brown with a creamy tan head. Aroma has lots of chocolate and a strong hop character. Full bodied. Starts with a ton of resin and maybe grapefruit, quickly followed by a mass of very chocolate chocolate. Followed by some light resin/grapefruit. There’s a lot of every thing is this drink that for me finishes pretty dry and nicely bitter. Thanks again Santa! djd07 (15271) - Houston, Texas, USA - FEB 12, 2015
Bottle thanks to Rob. Pours a dark brown with small beige head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is dark chocolate and floral hop. Thin mouth with nice roast, dark chocolate and resin hop finsh. Very good. Theis (15152) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - JAN 29, 2009
Bottle (2006) at ØLbaren (thanks Lars). Black - brown head. Coffee, borned, berries, chocolate, licorice, light smokey notes, smoothness, nice hoppy. Nice - not fantastic.
