FFF bending the porter concept a little bit over here. Hoppy aroma. Soft mouthfeel but with a long bitter finish. Black DIPA? Very good!

6/30/2011: Three Floyds Amon Amarth Ragnarok... Aroma: Wow, totally unexpected aroma of HOPS - must totally be dry hopped to hell and back - supper fresh and leafy HOPS! More roasted coffee beans seems to emerge as the beer warms. Appearance: Opaque, dark brown color with reddish highlights; static head of really fin beige-colored bubbles; fine lacing effects. Flavor: Intense chocolate and leafy hops (citrusy) followed by a more subdued dry roasted maltiness; the hoppiness smoothes out a bit with each sip, although it still dominates with the dry, roasty, mocha-like maltiness being pretty far back in the background. Palate: Medium-bodied, but seems to drink more full; smooth going down with a calm, almost silky mouthfeel. Overall: Typically I don’t care for high-hopped of overly dry-hopped porters and stouts, but this one is growing on me for some reason...

Aromas of prunes, raisin, roast, coal and light malty.
Flavours of roast, raisin, prunes, bitter, creamy, porridge, light sweet, toffee and coffee.
Aftertaste is a light dry mix of roast, coffee, prunes, coal, floral.
Low carbo, soft creamy smooth mouthfeel, medium to fuller body and a creamy texture.
