the aroma on this beer is incredible. Floral, citrus hops. The hops are the star in this one, and the taste highlights the hops. Very delicious hoppy beer

Had on tap at Three Floyds during the Zombie Dust excursion. Served in an imperial pint glass.

A: Pours a solid amber throughout with an aggressive two finger head forming on the pour. It sticks around for a little while and leaves splotchy sheets of lace throughout.

S: Caramel and bready malts are most present with some slight orange citrus and a little bit of floral hops at the backend.

T: The hops are earthy and grassy with a mild orange citrus burst. Mild floral notes lead to a caramel like malty sweetness.

M: Medium bodied with an ample carbonation for the style. Drinkability is high.

O: A nice sessionable drink. The flavors aren’t too aggressive which allow for multiple pints. A very solid beer.

This is from old vague notes I dug out, sorry it is not very descriptive. The beer was a clear orangish color with a nice white head. Aroma and taste were both slightly piney, more grapefruit and orange citrus flavors. The New Zealand hops added an interesting note. There was some bread in the back as well. I remember it being fantastic, I just wish my notes were better, I think I had too many!

On tap at the Bavarian Lodge in Lisle, IL. as a 16 oz. serving, with a clear, orange/golden color, silky, off white head foam, and clingy, etched-like lacing. The nose was smooth malt and an aromatic combo of ruby grapefruit and nectarine. Medium hop bitterness and malt were well balanced in the flavor, which also presented a touch of marmalade-like sweetness. Medium bodied and decently carbonated, this IPA might not satisfy the ultimate hop head’s needs, but at this sitting, I appreciated it’s balance, appropriate bitterness, and sheer quaffability.

On tap at Bavarian Lodge. Light peppery aroma, not indicative of other FFF brews. Gold in color, light lacing. Flavor is slightly fruity, malt, and pepper, but very mello hop presence for an IPA from FFF. Nice beer, not a favorite. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

From notes. First reviewed 11/17/2010. Served on tap in a pint glass.

Aotearoa pours an amber cherry color, with a frothy off-white head that leaves nice lacing down the glass.

Some citrus, floral, and pine hops, caramel malt, roasted bready malt, and some generic spices in the nose.

The malt taste up front is caramel sweet and roasted bread. The taste transitions to an interesting combination of hop flavors - earthy, floral, and a big dose of grapefruit citrus. It finishes a little bitter with a touch of pine. The Nelson hops are a really interesting addition to this beer and create a unique taste.

The juicy feel makes my mouth water. A slight residue sticks in the mouth after each sip. This has a medium level of carbonation and a medium body.

Very easy to drink; a solid offering from FFF.

On tap at three floyds. Pours light gold small white head. Aroma soft citrus and sweet bread and caramel. Soft cat piss and herbal hoppiness. Flavor is much the same. Smooth hoppiness, a bit citric orange and sweet marmalade. Smooth hoppy finish not aggressively bitter. Nice beer

On tap at Three Floyds over Christmas. Reviewed from notes.

Pours a nice amber-orange color with a bit of haze to it. Good white head and plenty of ringy lacing on the way down. The nose carries some great tropical notes and a hefty amount of orange. A bit of zest as well. Flavor is a bit too sweet with fruit and malt. Medium body with a semi-dry finish, as there is a bit of sweetness there. Tasty treat.

On tap at 3Floyds. Pours an orange amber with a medium creamy white head. The aroma is fruity, citrus, tangerine, and cereal. Taste is very fruity with lots of tangerine and candied orange notes. I spent my birthday at 3Floyds attempting to drink every beer on the menu that I hadn’t previously tried, and this one was my favorite. Just an all around great IPA.

Amber color. Bit much Bose. Heavy carbonation. Hops overwhelm the palate. Not much balance. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
