COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This complex double India pale ale has an intense citrus and floral hop aroma balanced by a velvety malt body which has been augmented with lactose milk sugar. With this different take on an IPA we have brewed an ale that is both pleasing to drink and, once again, not normal. Cheers! 100 IBU 11.0%ABV (used to be 9.5%)

Look - Mainly orange with yellow tint. Thick, small bubbled, slightly off white head. Good lacing. The body is hazy. Smell - There is that strong dankness. Vanilla. Caramel. Pine. Pineapple. Taste - The only difference in the taste is the bitterness and alcohol. A little orange and extra citrus thrown in there too. Feel - Creamy. Milky. Small burst of carbonation but not too much. Overall - 4.5s across the board. I need this side by side with Cimmerian to see which is my favorite Floyds DIPA (so far). I really like this beers balance.

Fat på Mikkeller Bar, STHLM. Grumlig bärnsten. Doftar karamellmalt och övermogen frukt. Smakar röda bär, tropisk frukt. Lite spritig, inget speciellt. Three Floyds har en tendens att bli överrejtade pga gott rykte känns det som. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draught @ Mikkeller Bar. Strange grainy, alcoholic aroma. Taste is awfully sweet with notes of flowers and honey. What sent wrong here?

Keg. Unclear reddish orange with a small off white head. Sweet tropical fruits, sugary malt, red candy, resin. Full body, oily texture, medium sweet and bitter. The alcohol challenges the sweetness and gives some balance. Long warming finish. Barley wine/ipa.

22 oz bottle poured into a tulip. Thanks to my friend Daniel for the trade. Bottled 6/27/2014. Hazy orange with 3 fingers of off-white head. Nice webby lacing. Aromas of citrus, floral notes, some alcohol. Tastes of citrus, tropical fruit, milky sweetness, pine, light toasty notes, some alcohol. Medium body with a dry finish. Juicy almost creamy mouthfeel. Medium carbonation. Lactose adds an interesting sweetness and works fairly well.
