COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This complex double India pale ale has an intense citrus and floral hop aroma balanced by a velvety malt body which has been augmented with lactose milk sugar. With this different take on an IPA we have brewed an ale that is both pleasing to drink and, once again, “not normal.” Cheers! 100 IBU 11.0%ABV (used to be 9.5%)

Shared a bomber. Poured burnt, hazy orange, with nice foamy head. Aroma of orange, pine, caramel, and other floral notes. The palate was creamy with soft carbonation and a dry finish with a kick of the lactose at the end. The taste was primarily malty (probably because of the lactose), with some orange, pine, toffee, and a little caramel. This experiment turned out very well and I wish I could describe it better. 3F rarely disappoints.

Opaque apricot color with a dense white head. Aroma is tangerine and candied orange peel. Taste is the same, and cloyingly sweet. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured from a bottle that a mule dropped off behind a dumpster. Orange-copper with mild haze, thick persistent lacey head. Malts, resin and stone fruit on the nose. Taste is orange, pith, peach and plum, some almond esters. Booze is present but wouldn't suggest this high an ABV. Fine carbonation blooms over time. Medium to heavy body; thick and chewy and a bit oily. Finish is tangerine, malts, and leathery bitterness. Really complex, classic American style IPA. Excellent. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle pour. Pours a pale amber. Heavy malts on the nose. Medium bodied - heavy bitterness, solid malt and hop mix. Great finish. Really good.

Bomber. Pours a medium gold with a very slight haze and a big frothy head. Aromas are faintly honey-like without much of a hops presence. Flavor is booze bomb with a bit of hops... it’s really interesting, but not maybe the end all of beer-geek-dom. There is quite a bit of sweetness to this beer, but not enough of a hops presence for it to balance well as a DIPA. It’s definitely unique, but odd.

22 ounce bottle into signature teku glass, bottled on 6/15/2017. Pours slightly hazy golden amber/light orange color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice dense soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pineapple, apricot, mango, melon, papaya, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, light pepper, pine, honey, light caramel, lightly toasted bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical hops, lactose, and moderate dark/bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pineapple, apricot, mango, melon, papaya, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, light pepper, pine, honey, light caramel, lightly toasted bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pineapple, apricot, mango, melon, papaya, lemon/orange peel, citrus rind, pepper, pine, honey, light caramel, lightly toasted bread, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops, lactose, and moderate dark/bready malt flavors; with an awesome malt/bitterness balance, and zero lingering hop astringency after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from bitterness, increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/grainy/sticky, and lightly resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 8.6%. Overall this is an incredible DIPA! All around fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops, lactose, and moderate dark/bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the balanced bitter/drying finish. Very vibrant, juicy, and lightly dank hops; great malt balance, without being overly sweet or heavy feeling. Feels like a slightly sweeter Dreadnaught. Very similar on hop profile and bitterness. A highly enjoyable offering.

Bottle. Pours dark amber. Sweet aroma and citrus. The palate is full body. There is a sweet lactose taste. Then a citrus taste. Good.

Tap at 3 Floyd’s. Golden with spotty white lacing. Pineapple, bubblegum, resin, powdered sugar and oatmeal. Fairly sweet with a strong fruity bitter taste. Heavy body with a film feel.

Aroma is full of all those tropical notes you long for, grapefruit, mango, peach with some resin. Taste is on the sweeter side with a resiny and light herbal touch. Fruits once again, such as apricots and sweet peaches. There’s a smooth and slick mouthfeel, which I only can guess is from the lactose. Jammy, fruity and lactose smooth. Great stuff!

Refrigerated brown bomber June 29, 2016 poured into snifter. Hazy orange with small white head. Aroma is herbal hops, medium body, medium/lower carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is herbal hops, and lactose.
