Bomber yellow wax poured a hazy amber with a lingering ring of amber foam. Aromas of carmel, pear, apricot, mango, orange and a hint of pine. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of carmel, orange, apricot, light woodiness and a hint of earthiness with a smooth lingering bittersweet finish.

Bottle. Pours a clear ruby color with a huge creamy off-white head that would not diminish and produced excellent lacing. Second most attractive brew I have seen. Heavy complex aroma of roasted malt , molasses, citrus and brown sugar. Medium to full body with a thick texture. Good flavor with heavy sweet and bitter and a long finish. Great brew for number 800.

Bottle sample at a tasting. Hazy amber color with a beige head. Aroma of pine needles, resin, some cookies, malt, some fruitiness and a bit of alcohol. Sweet malty flavor at first with some dark bread, caramel and some plums notes turns into bitter piney hops. Full-bodied. Good stuff.

Tap at CBC, May 2012. It pours orange-amber, with a thick off-white head. The nose is spice, honey, hot cross bun, sweet fruit, grass and pine. The taste is wood, leather, lemon pith, varnish, grass, resin, golden syrup, booze, spice, grass and hot cross buns, with a long, warming-bitter finish. Full body and moderate carbonation. Overall a good hoppy barley wine, which I think I would prefer with a few years on it.

Amber with a lasting white head. Intense malt aroma with lots of peach and pine hops behind it. Intense and huge sweet malty flavour with lots of pine hops for a near balance. Too sweet and big to drink a lot, but a wonderful sip!

UPDATED: MAR 28, 2009 2007 Bottle, courtesy of drewbeerme. Pours an orangish-tinted brown with a small head. Amazingly strong and good aroma of caramel, chocolate, citrus and mint. Nice balance of hops and malt in the taste. Medium body. Tis most excellent!
