Blue wax. Purchased at Lakeview Binny’s. It’s aight. Pretty light bodied for a 12% barley wine, this had none of the malty fullness and richness I like in my barley wines -- it’s pretty much a hoppy american strong. Nice billowing "racing" and sudsy sparce lacing with a head that mostly dissipates over a dark amber beer. There’s some sweet golden raisin on the nose (much more than in the mouth), accented by floral and oily hops. Caramel sweetness in the mouth is dark and not too distinct, mostly acting as a nondescript baseline around which the hops play, sometimes juicy, always bitter. Not a bad beer at all, but my barley wine tastes are fairly specific, and this doesn’t push the right buttons for me (I don’t know why I rate barley wines more "to style" than any other style, but I do -- and by "to style" I mean "to what I want it to be").
Tap @ Bodega: First time ever drinking a Three Floyds on tap! Murky appearance with an off-white head. Musty malts with prominent hops. Wet sourdough with a super bitter hop profile in the flavor. Thick body! phranq (250) - - JUL 29, 2017
2015. Nose is sweet bread and grape. Taste is sweet and ballanced. Finishes slohhtly boozy. Would love to try fresh. screigh (756) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - JUN 22, 2017
Pours a clear copper color. Very thin head that disappeared into nothing. Hoppy and malty at the same time aroma. Caramel, malty, a citrusy hop flavor. Kapsel (418) - Warsaw, POLAND - JUN 17, 2017

Herbaciane, trochę biszkoptowe, mocno nachmielone, nie podszedł mi jakoś bardzo. ads135 (4933) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - MAY 3, 2017
An outstanding barleywine. Very powerful, very boozy, very sweet beer. Nice amount of hops that aren’t completely swallowed up by the malts. Tried with Al, Brian, Brandon, and Josh at Local Option in 2017 after ASEH.

Sampel butelki w Chmielarni. Białe owoce, drewno i wanilia. Smak słodki, lekko cukrowy, owocowe i wanilia jak w aromacie, w tle trochę taniczne. Smaczne. rami_pl (4220) - Warszawa, POLAND - APR 29, 2017

Mydlo, ziola, miod, niby jest dobrze ale nie jest, miedzy innymi, bo pachnie mydlem.
Bottle shared with the KL tastiing group. Poured a hazy medium amber with a thin broken white head. The aroma is toffee caramel malt. The flavour is moderate sweet with a light, metallic hop, light fruit, alcohol bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. DialSquare (5123) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - MAR 6, 2017
