Tasted 7/8/11. 22oz bomber. #51/165. Thanks to phaleslu for sharing! Pours dark and pitch with a trace tan head. Aromas of earthy, vegetal notes with a smokey malt aspect. Burnt marshmallows and a good dose of peppers. Full bodied and hot with a big palate. Odd, yet surprisingly rounded. The peppers and the heat are apparent, but they blend decently with the barrel aging. Good heat, good body and nicely blended. It got the silver from the series.

Bottle at Perennial. It poured a black color with a tan head. The aroma was of chocolate, peppers, vanilla, toffee and a hint of coffee. The taste was similar to the aroma with more chocolate, peppers, vanilla, toffee, coffee, bourbon and a little burn in the aftertaste. This was tasty.

04/03/2017 sample of a 75cl bottke gently offered by Danny @ ACBF. Dark brown to black with small tanned head. Nose is sweet dark malts, black fruits, caramel, bit booze. Taste is sticky sweet dark malts, dark fruits, very syruppy, caramel, soft licorice, vanilla and when you start thinking "oh, no chillies, the burn gently comes up, warming you together with the alcohol. Bit too sticky sweet and thick syruppt to really drink, but damn full of taste and nice to serve in small glasses as a liquor.

Jet black pour with barely any sign of carbonation. Very thin tan head hangs around the edges of the glass, but thats it. Aroma is sweet, chocolate and some fruitness. You can faintly smell the peppers and a hint of spice. Slightly honey like aroma. Huge full mouth. Taste is full of sweetness. Brown sugar, molasses and some dark stone fruits. Lingering pepper burn, but not overwhelmingly so. Plum like flavors are present in this. Really tasty. I really like the pepper burn on your lips. Nice beer.

750 mL bottle from 2015. Bottle #304 of 504. Thanks Gus! The pour is a dark thick black with a lack of head and lace. The aroma is very sweet. There is a light chili, lots of sweet fruit, and a really strange finish. Its sweet with a light pepper and a lack of soy. The flavor is full of sweet dark fruits and a light chili in the back end. The mouth feel is a little thinner, but its well carbonated. The finish of sweet fruit and chilies is really nice. This is growing on me a little.

Bottle shared with koleminer20, Gus, and Brad at the Spiced Stout tasting. Aroma is sweet, chilies, sweet, dark fruit, roasted malt, not so much soy. Appearance is black, light brown head, barely, poured thick. Taste is soy sauce, sweet, chili, dark fruit, roasted malt, eh. Mouthfeel is heavy, light carbonation, soy sauce aftertaste. Overall, meh. Meh and meh again.

2016 bottle. Nose is a touch vegetal, some dark fruits, chocolate, booze. Taste is boozy, chocolate, and chiles. The chile heat brings out the rich chocolate and dark fruits in the finish. Medium sticky mouthfeel.
