Tap @ CBC 2013. Black with no head. The nose is charred wood, boozy barrel. Some dark chocolate, cocoa, a bit of sweet lactose. The taste is rich chocolate, earthy ash. Burnt brown sugar. Boozy barrel. A touch of tang red grape. Smooth, thick decadent. Overall, quite nice stuff.

_angst_ (4802) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - MAY 28, 2013
Draught @ CBC2013. Pours hazy brownish black with a small creamy dark mocha head that is rather quick to dissipate and doesn’t leave more than a small trace on the glass. Smell is sweet and slightly malty with roasted malts, charred wood, roasted hazelnuts, sweet liquorice candy, dried dark fruits, dark chocolate, vanilla fudge, bourbon and milk duds. Taste is slightly sweet and slightly sour with roasted malts, moist wood, charred wood, tart cherries, dried dark fruits, dark chocolate, dark roast coffee, lemon juice, vanilla fudge, milk duds, burnt cookies, sweet liquorice candy and hints of smoke and bourbon. Mouthfeel is slightly dry, slightly roasted astringent, tiny tart and medium bodied. Finish is tiny sweet, bitter and tiny tart with roasted malts, dark chocolate, charred wood, milk duds, vanilla fudge, lemon juice, salty liquorice candy and bourbon. Sourish most likely due to some kind of barrel infection. Still tasty but I suspect this would be really great when not sour.

brnandersen (4026) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - MAY 11, 2013
Sample from tap, CBC 2013. Pitch black with a creamy, tan head. Sweet and roasted aroma with chocolate, coffee, roasted malts, bourbon barrel, vanilla and cocoa. Taste is sweet. Full body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. Finishes sweet with barrel, a warming alcohol and milk chocolate. Rather sweet but the bourbon barrel gives some edge to this one.
