Big cheers to Craig for this one (cgarvieuk). Opaque dark brown beer. Tiny tan bubbles fail to form a head. Palate is rich and smooth with fine carbonation. Rich dark malt, not bitter or roasty. Smooth and a little creamy. Whispers of dark chocolate and dark toffee. Lovely brandy links everything together, trace of wood. Finishes with a trace of aniseed and a whisper of dark fruits. Lovely dark treat!

Bottle shared in London - big thanks to Jack. Pours black-brown with a creamy tan head. The nose has a bit of hard alcohol, some char, cocoa, burnt marshmallows. Big sweet flavor with some smokey dark malts, syrupy dark fruits, raisins, earth, old wood. Full bodied, chewy, with fine carbonation. Warm finish with lots of sugary, syrupy fruits, some chocolate, nips of smoke. Heavy hitting gear but tasty in small doses.

Black with a decent tan covering that soon dissipates to spotting.
Nose is sweet, muscavado sugars, dark fruit, woody, dark toffee, play dough, rich roast, light brandy snap biscuit.
Taste comprises rich roast, chocoalte, earthy notes, subtle brandy barrel, soy sauce, brown sugar.
Full bodied, slick and oily, lightly warming alcohol in the close.
Decent enough impy but again no ’wow’ factor for me from another Dark Lord. rlgk (18850) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - MAY 28, 2016

9000th rating. Thanks to douglas88 for opening at RBSG ’15. 750mL bottle, pours black with a reddish tinge and a tiny head. Aroma brings out big brandy barrel notes, along with dark fruits and sweet liqueur. Flavour is very sweet, with sweet brandy barrels, booze, and dark fruits. Super complex but a tad cloying and boozy. Wonderful one to try, but it’s a 1 oz. sipper type of beer. Good and very fun to try. brokensail (16486) - Dublin, California, USA - MAR 28, 2012
Black in color with nice viscosity. Minimal head formation and carbonation. Intense aroma of brandy and graham cracker sweetness. Lots of brown sugar, molasses, and chocolate, too. Maybe some marshmallow on the palate along with the graham cracker. A bit of a S’more thing going on. Quite a bit of brandy and booze as well as a bit of vanilla. Intensely sweet, but I like it.
