Pours a darker brown color, tan-colored head, spotty lace, thin collar. Nose is lots of berries, some malty sweetness, light oak, smooth booze. Reminds me of Bramble, but less booze and more berries (if that’s even possible). Flavor is berries, dark fruity, oak, smooth booze, with perhaps a trace of the base beer left after 18 months in barrels. Medium body, good carbonation, creamy sweet finish.

I would call this beer Bramble Lite, as it has a ton of berries but less booze when compared to fresh Bramble. I really enjoyed this one and had a second pour and our group killed the bottle, which is saying a lot. The booze is perfect right now and I’m curious to see how the fruit does over the next few months in the bottle. As with Bramble, I think you either like it or hate it...not much in between. Overall, not sure why this one is getting such hate...I liked it.

Bottle thanks to TheAlum! Pours clear chestnut, small beige head, dissipates fairly quickly, decent lacing. Aroma is huge raspberry and vinous notes, grapes, red wine, raspberry seeds, ruby port, grape must. Flavor is medium sweet, light bitter, huge berries and vinous notes again, light bourbon. Medium body, low carbonation. Pretty tasty.

Bottle at Fastelavn Smagning 2014 @ J&C’s beer palace, Jutland Saturday Session 2 - 01/03/14. Hazed mahogony brown with light beige spotting and edgework. Nose is berry fruit, sweet tones, sublte bourbon BA notes, oaky, dark toffee, raspberry tang. Taste comprises brown sugars, coconut shavings, big raspberry blast, sweet toffee, hint of bourbon. Medium + body with fine carbonation. Decent BA affair, probably the best beer I’ve had from this fantasy style.
