3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
22oz bottle in a plastic cup. Pours golden with a cream-colored head. Aroma of pale and toasted malts, plus some herbal and floral/piney hops. Flavor the same. Average texture. A pretty good beer for the style.
Pours hazy yellow with a lot of fizzy white head. Aroma is lemon grass and bread dough. Taste is much of the same. Ballanced but not really strong in any area. jsmerig (1585) - Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 10, 2016
Pours a light cloudy yellow with a white head and very active carbonation. Aroma of yeast and lemon. The taste is lightly lemon with a creamy middle ending with a lemon meringue finish.

22 ounce bottle from Badger Spirits in Beloit, WI, served 10 minutes out of the fridge in a Zywiece lager glass. Enormous soupy head topping a pale, cloudy golden body that clears up slowly just as the head diminishes - it’s quite lovely to watch...biscuit and cracker aromas in a fairly intense malty nose that offers light hints of dry straw and a hint of honeysuckle...lovely body balances those pale malts with a faint touch of honey sweetness, and light but growing grassy/hoppy bitterness towards the finish, faint mineralic hints...body is light and quaffable, but full enough though at times it does seem just a tiny bit watery...overall pretty great stuff; after a couple of disappointing re-tries and a few other recent first-time samples I’ve been wondering if this brewery is losing it’s mojo, this goes at least a little ways towards proving that thought misplaced. ryanscourt (1471) - Latrobe, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 11, 2016
Pineapple aroma. Nice thin crisp body with a pineapple juice and lemon zest finish. Slight earthiness to the finish. mrjaxson (586) - .08 Junction, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 30, 2016
A bit of freshly baked biscuits and sliced lemon on the aroma. The medium body gets a bit more sweet as the beer warms, though there is just the slightly hop bite. Excellent summer beer enjoyed on tap in Shorewood, WI, at Draft & Vessel with the doors and windows open.

Pours clear gold with a sticky white head, very clingy. Aromas of rice, lemongrass, straw. Taste is lemon, mild tart, rice, soapy bitterness. Decent mouthfeel; clean, smooth, very crisp. This probably suffers somewhat due to the fact that Kolsch brews aren't really my thing. It's not bad, and it's probably even a very solid example of the style, but I still find it lacking compared to the big stouts and fruity IPAs that are my wheelhouse.

22. Thanks, C! All of these were so rad. Pours a hazy medium amber with a loose white head. Clean caramel and light herbs on the nose. Creamy medium body with lively carb. No heavy sweetness, just a nice toasty presence. Very clean and drinkable kolsch. Mild finish. DialSquare (5028) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - JUL 13, 2016
Bomber from Giant Eagle Grandview: murky yellow gold pour, white head. aroma of straw, biscuity. tastes are lightly sweet lemon, grain, slight tropical vibe. nothing crazy, but easy drinking. jgb9348 (6250) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - JUN 13, 2016
Clear golden coloured body with a very large, six centimetre tall off-white head that shows trillions of bubbles rising from the bottom - nice! Aroma of yeast, light malt, rice, corn, a hint of resinous hops, some lemons and a bit of bread. Light-bodied; Very mild malt notes with some rice and grain and a very subdued citrus flavour with the faintest amount of hops noticeable. Aftertaste is almost as bland, but some light yeast comes through along with the malt - that’s it, absolutely no complexity. Overall, an average beer at best - and at worst, a subpar beer with not much flavour and one that is WAY overpriced. People should get over some reputation ratings on this one, it simply isn’t a great beer and definitely not worthy of any high marks, period. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from King Richard’s Wine & Spirits in Michigan City, Indiana on 09-September-2015 for US$9,99 sampled at home in Washington on 12-June-2016. Light golden color with a white, airy head. Aromas of noble hops abound along with sweet pale malt. No this is not a Kolsch, but it is a fine beer. A mix between a German pils and kolsch. Clean and malty, with an extra zip of hops. 6/12
